We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Paulina Casati. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Paulina below.
Paulina, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I’ve been creative my entire life, it’s what stokes my inner fire. Self taught, I didn’t truly step into the role of an artist until I was 25. At that point I began playfully exploring the realm of visionary art by being vulnerably adventurous with paint. I’m a believer that every path is the right path, though, looking back I certainly could have accelerated my learning process by devoting more time and focus through observation and practice. Intuition and wonderment are pillars of my work, so nurturing my connection with these through the years has been vital. My biggest blocks were major life circumstances that depleted me energetically and subsequently interrupted my creative & intuitive flow.
Paulina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a visionary artist from south-central Appalachia where I grew up surrounded by nature. My catch phrase “Painting is my heart space and Nature, my muse” came about because of how wildly passionate I am about Earth and the fractal like phenomena that can be found in our macro & microcosms.
I began painting music festival posters in 2011 while living in Asheville, North Carolina as a way of generating extra income. A couple years later the desire to fill a blank wall space compelled me to build and stretch my own large canvas. The painting, aptly named “In the Beginning,” was the turning point in my young art career.
In addition to my gallery wrapped canvas originals and commissioned work I also offer canvas and fine art prints. Each original is adorned with a 3D talisman that is most suitably amplifying to the painting’s subject matter. More often than not these are crystals or other organic trinkets.
My inspiration has always come from Nature, the Cosmos & Divine Intelligence. Connecting with and witnessing these each day is what makes me feel alive. Creating from this place of love, gratitude & wonderment brings me the upmost joy and because of this my intentions are to commune & share it with the world, inspiring others to connect with their own hearts and soul’s purpose. I believe it is through this connection we can expand towards unity and oneness as a collective.
I feel so lit up when I get to witness or connect with an observer of my work as their heart is also lighting up & expanding. It’s a beautiful love vibration with strong resonance that ripples outtward. Something more of which the world can always enjoy.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Full on heart expansion from daydreaming & connecting to something greater than this third dimensional experience. Which may sound paradoxical considering my hands, instruments and paintings are as three dimensional as they come.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Love heals; I believe we all have the capacity and are worthy of experiencing this fullness of heart, sometimes we just need a little reminder of how magnificent we truly are. It is my intention to facilitate this experience to others by expressing our unity and interconnectedness with Gaia, the Cosmos and all of existence through my work.
