Alright, Paula thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.

Taking the risk of following your heart step by step is one of the most challenging ones and also the one that will retribute the most I believe. The act of start creating my videos and sharing my knowledge was a risk taking step for me for sure!,
Having to battle all insecurities and voices that pop in my head telling all the reasons why might not be a great idea to share my mind and put myself out there is a big one! and fighting those thoughts by deciding to take the risk and do it for me, and start sharing my heart in what I do with love was and continues to be a challenge, is a work is process but to see how I share my own mind, beliefs, values and ideas with love and my own vision is already rewarding for me to say I’m proud of overcoming my daily battles and do it.

Paula, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am a very visual person, I love colors and combinations, I really enjoy painting and creating and as I was growing up I was very inclined to the arts in all its forms; I started feeling curious about the art on people (makeup), I started getting curious about makeup products and the creations you can make with them and also about the confidence you can create with it.

I’ve been in the makeup industry for over 7 years now as a double certified makeup expert, and over the years I’ve been developing my techniques and adapting them to my own beliefs and creations based on my own observations on human behavior towards makeup and based on my own feels.

As I mentioned before, confidence plays a big role when it comes to “beauty”; I believe all knowledge is power and all power comes with great responsibility as superheroes say , and it is so because power allows you to create or destroy…
Knowledge in makeup allows to create or destroy people’s confidence if is used with responsibility and love.
I believe it is very important to convey that everyone is already beautiful and whole as they are, no one was born with the expectation of having to change aything in them; and that makeup is used as an artistic expression of your whole self, not to transform you into someone else if such act isn’t with artistic purposes and will destroy your confidence or make anyone feel uncomfortable in their own skin.

My ways and techniques of doing makeup, speciallly in “beauty”, (there are FX , bodypaint and other uses for makeup), is completely based in this belief, I use it creating an art expression of what everyone already is using their already given assets and natural guidelines as a way to embrace themselves.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My drive is my heart, doing what my heart tells me even if the trend is going somewhere else or what’s “in” at the moment is different from what I want to do or what I am doing, always doing my best to stay true and loyal to myself, my own beliefs and wants and creative point of view.

How did you build your audience on social media?

My advice to anyone that is starting on creating is the same , ALWAYS FOLLOW YOUR HEART!, I know how hard it can get to stay true to yourself sometimes with so many comparisons going on day by day specially on social media; lots of people trying to be like others and wanting to do what other person is doing cause “it might get more results if I’m like that”; struggling with this voices in our heads can get very tough sometimes but take a moment to stop and stand still, meditate and listen to yourself and just yourself and there is where you will get the best and most fullfilling advices you can ever get! TRUST YOURSELF, THERE IS NO ONE IN THIS PLANET LIKE YOU, ONLY YOU HAVE YOUR IDEAS AND CREATIVE POINT OF VIEW.
