We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Paula Marie. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Paula below.
Paula, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My passion for writing the self-help book Kick A*s and Have a Life stems from a desire to help others avoid the same mistakes I made in my own life. As someone who has struggled with work-life balance, I know firsthand the toll that an unbalanced lifestyle can take on an individual’s overall well-being and happiness. That’s why I wrote this book – to provide guidance and support to others struggling to find balance in their lives.
In the book, I share eight powerful techniques for managing your time and achieving a healthy work-life balance. These strategies include scheduling an honoring time for the areas of life that are important to you. I also share my personal journey, including the emotional lessons I’ve learned along the way and offer motivation and encouragement to readers who are looking to create success and happiness in their own lives.
Kick A*s and Have a Life is more than just a book about time management. It’s also packed full of helpful tips for recognizing unhealthy patterns of behavior, using your resources more efficiently, and making positive changes in your life. With real-world examples and actionable advice, this book is a valuable resource for anyone looking to take control of their time and create a more fulfilling life.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Paula Marie, and I am a published author, inspirational speaker, and successful realtor with over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry. Real estate has always been my passion, and I have had the opportunity to build many close relationships with my clients over the years.
I have also faced the challenges of the real estate industry, including the lack of a clear work-life balance and the temptation to get caught up in the pursuit of the next deal.
After reaching monetary success, I realized that I had neglected other areas of my life and was left feeling depleted. Following a divorce and missing out on many years of my daughter’s childhood, I knew it was time for a change. As a single mom, I still needed to make a living, so I developed a system that allowed me to be successful in my career while also making time for the other important aspects of my life.
The changes I made were life-changing and powerful, and now my life looks completely different – in a really good way! I am excited to share the system that I used in my new book, “Kick A*s and Have a Life,” and invite your readers to join me on this journey of self-improvement. It may not be a quick fix, and it won’t always be easy, but it is so worth it. I look forward to sharing my story and helping you achieve the same success and happiness that I have found.
I am passionate about helping others achieve a better work-life balance. That’s why I am here to share my story and the tools and techniques that have helped me find a better balance and lead a more fulfilling life.
I believe that life is short and time is our most precious asset. While we can’t buy more time, we can make more money and use it to live the kind of life we truly want. By mastering our time and learning new skills, we can create an extraordinary life that we can be proud of.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson that I had to unlearn was the belief that I needed to be perfect in order to help others. For years, I struggled with impostor syndrome, believing that I wasn’t qualified or capable of making a difference in the lives of others. I was held back by fear – fear of failure, fear of being judged, fear of not being good enough.
But eventually, I came to realize that it was this very fear that was holding me back. I had to face my fears and step out of my comfort zone in order to truly make a difference. I had to learn to embrace my imperfections and recognize that it was my unique experiences and perspective that made me qualified to help others.
So, I took the leap and started sharing my story and offering support to others who were struggling with similar issues. And, to my surprise, I found that my honesty and vulnerability actually made me more relatable and effective in helping others. By letting go of the need to be perfect, I was able to connect with others on a deeper level and make a greater impact.
This was a hard lesson for me to learn, but it has been a game-changer in my personal and professional life. I now understand that it is my imperfections that make me who I am and that it is through facing my fears and stepping out of my comfort zone that I am able to truly grow and make a difference in the world.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I got divorced, I faced the challenge of being a single mom while also trying to make a living. As a workaholic, I knew that I needed to make some major changes in order to be able to support my daughter and still have the time and energy to be a present and loving parent.
To do this, I had to pivot my professional life. I had been working long hours with no work-life balance, and I knew that this was not sustainable as a single parent. So, I took the time to do some soul-searching and figure out what was most important to me: my daughter and my own well-being.
With that in mind, I began exploring strategies for scheduling and changing my mindset so that I could earn a living and also be a fully engaged parent. That was the first step in changing my life. It was the first time I realized I could take time off work and still succeed in my career, that I could take a vacation and be present. This shift in mindset was the beginning of a transformation that allowed me to become the best version of myself that I could possibly be.
Divorce is a difficult and uncertain time, but it can also be a journey toward growth and personal development.
