We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Paul Magege. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Paul below.
Hi Paul , thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I can only hope that one day, my legacy is that I showed nothing but genuine love to people, I always treated people as equal, and I stood on my morals no matter what the situation was. I have done of lot of different things in my life and I know have impacted a lot of people, good and bad but I can only hope… they remember me for being myself and comfortable making choices that aligned with me and always trying my best as a man.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
If you have not heard about me up until this point, I am Paul Magege, I am 21 years old at the time I write this and I create art with my photographs. I got into this industry because started taking pictures in my early teenage hood for myself but by being told I have a gift I launched my brand. I plan on creating more creative work as time goes on and hopefully being an influence of change in my community with my photos. I think what sets me apart from others is my authentic nature and my ability to capture the beauty of life on an exceptional level. I am most proud of the fact that so many people genuinely love my work and I have been an inspiration to some, that gives me more joy than a lot of things I’ve done in my life. The main thing I want people to know about my brand is that its deeper than the photo art, I am hoping to change lives one day.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is that you learn so much about yourself through the process of creation. I learn what I like, I don’t like, how I can channel my emotions and I learned so much mentally about how to use my energy and my mental stamina when I have to create my work.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One lession I had to unlearn is about “working harder, not smarter.” I feel like my entire life, I was told to work hard to make the things you think are unachievable possible and the older I get I realize this is something that just does not work for me. I now understand and appreciate the concept of “working smarter, not harder” and making smarter decisions for myself when needed and the value of planning steadily, not just working towards something relentlessly for no reason.
