We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Paul Lauden. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Paul below.
Paul , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
“Channel Surfing” is more than silly sketch videos. I created all 30 of my shorts after my Cancer recovery. It was my therapy. It was my focus. It gave me direction. By giving my full attention to making people laugh, I overcame my physical and mental struggles. Thanks to “Channel Surfing”, I kept creating for a full decade…It brought me joy, purpose and adventure!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
The videos I’ve created with “Channel Surfing” serve as a source of inspiration for those who have been through severe health issues. It shows that you can thrive after you have been through a challenging experience. We all have greatness within us…we simply must tap into it and make it happen!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
First of all, selfishly, the process of creating…is a reward within itself. The other celebration arrives when people approach me mentioning they read my story and were inspired to follow their dreams. There is no greater joy than to be of service…while doing what you love!
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I may be oversimplifying this, however I feel that the best to support any artist is to simply say… “I’m proud of you!” The weight of such a statement is immeasurable. “I’m proud of you!”
