We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Paul Askew. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Paul below.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Let me introduce myself, I consider myself to be an entrepreneur as well. I have many projects that I am working on besides music. One of them being King Paul Collection my clothing line and it is designed by David Mando and Madu-Awa Hamilton of Lagos, Nigeria. I also have my beard oil King Paul Beard Growth Oil, and also my dandruff elixir for people who struggle with a healthy hair journey. I also have partnered with MicroDental Laboratories a dental company that distributes dental appliances based out of California and also dentist around America. To help struggling individuals with getting their lives together. All of the recipients of the gift would have had some type of strife in life like drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence, fighting deadly diseases, mental illness. We are working together to change their smile and to give them their bright light for life and happiness. In the words of my partners Microdental smiles matter. It changes everything. We are recording the journey of helping them inside and out. A smile starts from the outside in.
Paul, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project that I have worked on has been my latest album The Book Of Paul. The backstory behind my album is the trials and tribulations of my life. I overcame the things that were meant to destroy me and for that I am grateful.
What do you find most rewarding about being creative?
What’s most rewarding for me is that my creative journey is changing the lives of others. Simply put. My life is not in vain, it is impacting everyone who comes in contact with the “King Paul” experience whether it be my music or my fashion line or the smile partnership.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Yes, there is a book that impacted my entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy. It is called Survival Guide for Empaths. Learning that I was a empath it helped me to understand myself and helped me to understand how to exist in the world. It taught me that I am different and how people treat me is not my problem and that people might not understand me because of the gift that God has given me and that is ok.
