Hi Patty, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Am I supposed to say, “making money”? I would say stepping into my power and overcoming challenging situations with grace. Having long term business relationships for over a decade. Overcoming adversity, making goals work and having a little fun along the way. Be happy with what you’ve invested your money, your time and your heart to.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Established in 2013, Chandler Entertainment LLC, is a women-led licensed, bonded, insured premier Talent Agency providing live music bookings, IT support, websites, social media, marketing, advertising campaigns, special events, customer relations for venues and musicians. Celebrating 10 years in business and over 5,000 Successful live music events!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I was just starting out, a woman new to the music business, in a strongly male dominated field. I was met with efforts to relegate me as a musician’s wife only, rather than a new business owner. With my proven track record of 40 years of corporate experience as a Senior Manager in the customer service, IT and Sales fields, I knew I could provide more in the music industry than most. I worked hard at establishing good contacts who had no ulterior motive. I quickly understood the value of connecting business opportunities, which allowed me to move into a deal-oriented role. In order to grow your business, you have to market yourself way more than any person thinks you should.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Looking back, I realize how important it is to be coachable. Learn from the people around you, venues, musicians, bar tenders, customers, your friends or someone you’ve never met before.
