We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Patti Negri. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Patti below.

Patti, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.

My parents believed in me. My mom constantly told me “I can be / do anything I want. She encouraged me to follow my dreams. I think equally important was giving me “belief system” freedom!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?

I have been communicating with the other side since I could talk! Even as a toddler, I knew that the so-called “imaginary friends” little kids have are not always imaginary! They were real spirits that would give me real information. I do think most kids have at least a bit of “the sight”, it just gets taught out of us in our modern, western, non-mystical society! Luckily, it was never taught out of me! Mom always said… “Yeah. Grandma could do that too!” I was also obsessed with the dead when I was little. But never in a dark or morbid way, I just liked talking to them. I literally did my first séance when I was 7 or 8 years old. Since then I have spent my life studying religion, spirituality, science, occult science and philosophy to try to understand, make sense of and navigate my gifts and the world.

I LOVE people. My passion and life’s goal is to help people discover or remember how amazing they are. I look around and see how much power we all give away… to other people, to limiting belief systems, to fear, to just about anything. I realize that most of us need some kind of guidance or roadmap to navigate and discover this. So along with my private practice, my book, speaking gigs, live and TV appearances, I wanted to help create and be a part of something that would give people this opportunity without judgement, dogma or being fear or control based so, along with two partners, Father Sebastiaan and Nick Bonanni, we started a very affordable online spirituality school, University Magickus. A kind of silly name for a serious mystery school. A place where contemporary and ancient wisdom come together in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. It is a place where students can study, learn, create their own path, spiritual evolution and purpose. University Magickus is a place where people with different beliefs and views can come, share, learn, and work together, united in the common desire to find truth in whatever path they choose. We are not affiliated with any religion or religious organization. Our classes are offered in many magical departments including mysticism, magick, astrology, varying forms of witchcraft, vampyrism, holistic and healing arts, occult ritual, meditation, paranormal investigation, reiki and other esoteric school. This past year, with two partners, Natalie Jones and Nick Bonanni we also started an all-paranormal streaming service called Paraflixx. We call it the “Netflix of the paranormal”. It too give artists, film makers, paranormal teams, music videos, documentaries and podcasts a home of their own with “like minded” people. I have a new mediumship book in the works, and getting ready to do a followup book to my best selling Old World Magick in the Modern World.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

The biggest thing I have learned so far on my journey is that our life is what we make it. Yes, we are given a set of circumstances, some good, some not-so-good, some possibly horrible. But I believe we are in charge with what we do with them, where we go from there. I choose a life of hope, of possibility of love. I believe that magic is all around us in many forms and many names. I believe that we can connect in to that magical energy and use and harness it to have a better, fuller, happier life. I believe that spirit is all around us – and truly is there to help us if we only acknowledge and are aware of it. My biggest sadness is how “asleep” so many people seem to be to the magic and wonder around them. That they go through life boxed in by their own limitations, versus the limitlessness of possibility. My biggest hope is for those people to wake up to the wonder. Take charge of their lives and find the magick within. If I can help in the tiniest of ways, I will consider my journey successful.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

To build your social media, be YOU! Your best and truest YOU! Authenticity shows. Humanity shows. People are drawn to it. Let people see your strengths – and your struggles. Allow yourself to show both your vulnerability and your strengths. Keep your sense of humor. More than anything else, have fun with it. The more people get to know you and relate to you your audience will grow!
