Patrishia , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One deeply underappreciated facet of entrepreneurship is the kind of crazy stuff we have to deal with as business owners. Sometimes it’s crazy positive sometimes it’s crazy negative, but crazy experiences unite entrepreneurs regardless of industry. Can you share a crazy story with our readers?
I was doing my friend Nadine nails and her nails always take awhile because we are always talking and never really know what design we are gonna do plus she likes her nails super long. We finally came up with a design and once i finished it was around 11 o clock at night and i took my content video and i posted it to my instagram and about 5 mins later i seen a comment from iamcardib and i was skeptical if it was really her so i asked my friends and they were like “YES THATS REALLY HER” and i just remember we started screaming and yelling that Cardi b commented on my nails it was a exciting day for me and I’ll always remember it like it was yesterday.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Patrishia Anderson I’m 31 and i am from Los Angeles Ca, I am a Nail Tech Enthusiast i got into nails a little bit before the pandemic on Valentine’s Day 2020 my husband surprised me with nail essentials so i started practicing and a month later the pandemic hit so with all the shops closing down i decided to start doing my own nails and found out i really loved it and started to do family members nails i checked into school in October of that year and just went full fledge into it . I think my proudest moment is me never quitting because everyone running your own business is harder than you think it’s so much that goes into it so I’m glad i didn’t let it discourage me. I just want my clients and followers to know i put my whole heart into this and i truly appreciate them for being apart of this journey with me it was a long bumpy ride and some of them stayed and we lost some along the way but that’s okay i also appreciate the ones who didn’t stay because they also gave me practice and lessons that helped me learn on my journey.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I started posting on TikTok in 2020 and i was just posting my nail content as usual until about a year later i went viral for a video that wasn’t even nail related but i kept posting nail content after that and i started growing and going viral i posted a nail video everyday for a whole month and gained over 10k followers in that month. For the people wanting to grow on social media just stay consistent and post if you can consistency is key stay authentic and watch yourself grow everyday.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Word of mouth, social media , and wearing your own work. I have friends who tell friends who tell more friends and so on and so on to gain clients. Of course social media is a big help with growing clients using your city hashtags helps being in a popular city could help also. And of course wearing your art helps build clientele. When i wear my nails i get stopped and asked “who does your nails?” I reply with “I do I’m a nailtech” and i proceed with showing them my Instagram and my work they add me and we go from there.
