Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Patrik Khach. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Patrik, appreciate you joining us today. Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
Yes, I have been able to earn a full-time living from my creative work, but it was not an overnight success. The journey has been filled with uncertainties and challenges influenced by market conditions and the economy. Consistency is crucial in this field. From the beginning, it was essential to be proactive: seeking out opportunities, networking, creating art, and competing with many others for the same opportunities.
Initially, I was constantly on the lookout for work while balancing life’s responsibilities. A significant realization that came later in my career was the importance of creating my own opportunities rather than waiting for someone else to showcase my work or offer acknowledgment. This proactive approach could have significantly sped up my progress had I adopted it earlier.

Patrik, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For those who may not have heard of me before, my name is Patrik Khach, and I have been deeply immersed in the world of electronic music from a young age. My journey into this vibrant industry started with a passion for bringing people together through the power of music. Now based in Los Angeles, I am dedicated to curating exceptional events that attract DJs, attendees, and prominent electronic music brands alike.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with and alongside some of the biggest names in the industry. This experience has helped me cultivate a reputation for integrity and excellence, making me one of the most sought-after figures in the electronic music scene in Los Angeles.
A pivotal moment in my career came in 2016 when my team and I launched SBCLTR, a series of meticulously curated parties in Los Angeles. This initiative has gained international recognition and has cemented my place in the electronic music industry. SBCLTR is more than just a party series; it is a platform for creative ingenuity and artistic expression. By hosting events in diverse and atmospheric locations, we provide a unique outlet for emerging talent to connect with a receptive audience.
In the same year, I partnered with Ali Farahani to establish Pipe & Pochet, a music label that has since become a leading source for down-tempo electronic music. Together, we have built a brand recognized for its quality and innovative approach to music production.
What sets me apart in this industry is my commitment to creating memorable experiences that foster community and celebrate artistic expression. I take pride in the impact my work has on both artists and attendees, offering a space where creativity can thrive. For potential clients, followers, and fans, I want you to know that my brand is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in event curation and music production, always with a focus on quality, innovation, and connection.
Today, while I continue to engage in all of the above activities, I also consult and support other events, festivals, and restaurants, providing a bridge between them and artists. In the summer of 2024, I launched a new series in collaboration with Ka’Teen, a fantastic Yucatán-flavored restaurant in Hollywood. Our series, called Jungle Disco, takes place every Friday from 10 pm to 2 am. Drawing inspiration from my travels, I strive to match the unique atmosphere of Ka’Teen with artists who play beautiful music, creating an ambiance that everyone can enjoy.
Additionally, my team and I are teaming up with fellow industry colleagues Minimal Effort this year to bring the debut of Brunch Electronik to Los Angeles on July 6th. This European brand has been growing over the years and is one of the most sought-after events for electronic music enthusiasts. We are proud to collaborate with them in the US for their debut.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
In this industry, everyone strives to be seen as “cool,” often seeking access to backstages and guest lists. However, the coolest thing you can do is genuinely support the artists and brands you love, rather than asking for free things. This industry thrives on the support of the community. While everything might look glamorous and fun from the outside, there’s a tremendous amount of effort involved in organizing these events. With hundreds of moving parts and tight deadlines in a highly competitive environment, your support is crucial.
To truly enjoy and sustain these experiences, support the creative community by buying music, purchasing tickets, and investing in merchandise. This not only helps artists and brands continue to produce the work you enjoy but also fosters a thriving and dynamic creative ecosystem. Your contributions make a significant difference and ensure the continued growth and vibrancy of the industry.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is the profound impact we have on our audience. It’s in the smallest flashbacks, the joy expressed, the friendships formed, the love discovered, and the inspiration ignited. These moments fill us with the satisfaction and motivation to keep pursuing our craft. They make all the blood, sweat, and tears worthwhile, reminding us why we do what we do.
