Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Patrik Kabongo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Patrik, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
In 2022, X10 Entertainment received a Music Creation grant through Ontario Creates. During this time, I released my debut Alternative/R&B project, “I TRIED TO SING A SONG” and hosted a songwriting camp known as KREATIVE HAUS.
Through the project, I ventured into singing for the first time, leading me to explore new artistic avenues and experience personal growth as both a musician and a songwriter. This creative journey also transformed my perspective on life in a meaningful way. I dedicated considerable effort to shaping the project’s themes to resonate with those around me, offering a relatable narrative perspective rather than a prescriptive one.
A noteworthy milestone was when one of my singles secured placement on Apple Music’s prestigious New In R&B playlist, landing at #1 for a noteworthy duration. This marked recognition reaffirmed my confidence in embracing an experimental approach and solidified my trust in my creative process.
Regarding KREATIVE HAUS, my role as a facilitator allowed me to guide the artistic process, working alongside music executive Sean Thomas. While I played a lesser role in the writing aspect, I provided valuable consultations, observations, and directions to create an environment that would encourage artistic expression. This approach encouraged transparent discussions about the music business, benefiting all participants.
Having the privilege to organize these events as part of the Music Creation project significantly boosted my confidence and had a pivotal impact on my creative journey.

Patrik, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hey there, I’m Patrik Kabongo, a Canadian artist, songwriter, copywriter & business owner. I was born in Montreal, raised in Toronto, and have Congolese roots.
I’ve been in the music scene since around 2011-12, initially just freestyling at social events and performing live over dubstep and deep house beats. I’ve always been into rapping, starting from my poetry days back in school talent shows.
In 2019, I started X10 Entertainment Inc, a creative music agency offering label services to artists. It all began as a social movement with my friends in 2011. Together with Troy Harmon, Sean Thomas, and Arash Maleki, we developed a business model that let us dive into the music industry. We learned from other businesses and aimed to support independent artists who lacked business know-how to succeed on their terms.
I’ve honed my craft by journaling and making daily song references to refine my art and address sonic aspects that needed work. As an artist, I’ve not only written for others but also shaped music structures and explored a unique sound that’s been described as “sophisticated, moody gems.” I’ve even collaborated with award-winning composer Lionel Fabert for sync placements, Tik Tok, New Era & more.
As a business owner, our agency has assisted indie artists, organized songwriting camps, and built strong connections with music industry insiders. Our network keeps growing, and we’re adapting to the market while staying true to our brand identity.
I’m proud of what we’ve achieved so far. Building this music agency with my peers means a lot to me, as does getting my music on the right platforms and gaining recognition. I stand out by offering distinct content that’s off the beaten path yet accessible, like bringing a dictionary to the club. I’m grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had and the lessons learned from them. I hope my audience keeps believing in my voice and finds their own meaning in my music, without feeling obliged to support me. Just like life, art is subjective, and I want my fans to have their own take you can connect with me @x10pk – don’t be afraid to reach out.
To potential clients, I value open conversations and understanding your needs. Our approach is practical, backed by a skilled team with experience, knowledge, and patience. We’re all about transparency, and you can reach out to us @x10land for more info.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I want my music to touch people all over the world and give them the freedom to chase their dreams. My goal is to be among the best songwriters, and I’ve learned it’s not just about numbers or awards. It’s about how my gift can make a difference.
I aim to create music that brings a unconventional perspective, and hope my music makes people feel something special—whether it’s motivation, connection, reflection, or even a sense of belonging—no matter where they are.
This journey is my way of honoring the Most High YHWH and staying mindful of the power of words. It’s a reminder of how important they are and how they shouldn’t be taken for granted.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I love connecting with creatives who understand my vision.
From crafting songs for various artist and learning to sing, to collaborating with directors for the perfect visuals and diving into design and its accompanying copy, I’ve realized there’s so much to learn. Embracing this learning curve has been truly enjoyable.
Sharing my stories from my own perspective and seeing them resonate is amazing. It’s an honor that people try to understand the depth of my thoughts, especially since I’m often misunderstood. Additionally, this creative journey has given me insights into business concepts that might have seemed too formal or dull otherwise. Through each experience, creativity has allowed me to tackle situations unconventionally, giving me an advantage that sets me apart.
