We recently connected with Patrick Lee and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Patrick, thanks for joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
A lot of what I learned came from watching my grandmother cook when I was younger. Often when she made recipes, I would ask questions, take notes, and just simply observe. I took that thirst for knowledge and started learning from cooking shows, social media, and just generally networking with other chefs and my own creativity. Sometimes I do wish I had the opportunity to work at a restaurant or go to culinary school because it would have been a bit easier to learn a lot of the basics and technical skills. Unfortunately, I didn’t follow my path until 2020 out of fear that I would fail. I was in my own head a lot and as a result, never got started. Thankfully, my support system encouraged me to pursue my passions and follow my dreams.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Absolutely! I’m a celebrity chef specializing in full service catering, private dining, and content creation. I work to provide my clients an immaculate culinary experience from start to finish. This means from the first point of contact with me, you are getting exceptional customer service, a fully customizable menu selection, and the professionalism you deserve! I think what sets me apart from others is that I put smiles on faces and great food in your mouth! All of my recipes have been perfected to provide maximum flavor and freshness. I’m also food safety certified guaranteeing your meals are cooked with your safety prioritized. if you’re new to my brand, I would want you to know that you’re getting the best recipes hands down and the best service you’ll ever find!
How did you build your audience on social media?
A lot of my followers think that my growth came overnight. I’ve been grinding on social media for the past two years and it wasn’t easy. I started with less than 1,000 followers and I often struggled with getting eyes on my brand. I didn’t let it get to me though. I remained focused, determined, and most importantly, consistent. People underestimate the importance of remaining consistent in this game. They think they’ll post a video, go viral and that’s it. But as a creator, you have to be consistent. This means consistently posting content. It means consistently being creative and posting unique and compelling content. Once you have that locked down, it’s only a matter of time before you start to get any kind of growth as a creator.
To those of you just starting, the most important thing you can remember is that you started. It takes a lot of courage to even record a video and post in online. Once you get started, the more you post consistently, the more chance you have of getting noticed. Keep that in mind,

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I feel that the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is my fan base. I don’t see myself as a celebrity or anything but they treat me as such. They share my content, get inspired by my creations, and put the word of mouth out there of my existence. For that, I’ll love them forever for it. It’s because of that why I have an open door policy to my DMs where I’ll talk to (or try to talk to) a majority of my followers to answer questions whether it be about cooking or just shooting the breeze.
