We recently connected with Patrick Ditzel and have shared our conversation below.

Patrick, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

I think a part of me has always known. I’ve always been fascinated by music. My parents put me into piano lessons at a young age, so music was second nature to me. I was already writing songs when I was in grade school, and eventually, it led me to pick up the electric guitar to pursue being in a rock band with some friends in high school. Since we were on a low budget, I wanted to find a way to be able to capture these songs. Around this time is also when Skrillex dropped his debut EP “Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites,” which made a huge impact on me since I learned through an interview with him that he had made all these sounds on a laptop. This opened a lot of doors for me since it inspired me to purchase Ableton and dive into producing. I’d say this is when it started turning into a career versus a hobby since people started recognizing my production skills and began booking me for DJ gigs in Chicago.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am Cafe Disko, also known as Patrick Ditzel, a multi-talented and highly skilled music producer/DJ from Dayton, OH. From a young age, I developed a deep love for music and spent countless hours experimenting with different sounds and techniques to hone my craft. My passion and hard work have paid off, as my music is now recognized for its high production value and innovative style.

In the studio, I am a creative force, using my technical knowledge and intuition to bring my unique vision to life. I am known for blending a wide range of musical genres, including hip-hop, electronic, and pop, making me a sought-after producer. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in the music industry, and my music has been featured on the radio.

In 2022, I was humbled to be nominated for an Emmy, and I was also nominated for ‘Best Street/Club Party DJ’ by the Chicago Music Awards. I am known for my energetic live performances and engaging personality, having performed at world-renowned venues and always leaving the crowd wanting more.

With my talent, passion, and unrivaled work ethic, I am a true force in the music industry. Now LA based, I continue to build a loyal following, establishing myself as one of the most promising new artists in the industry.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is seeing my hard work and dedication pay off in the form of recognition. When others appreciate and connect with my art, it validates the time and effort I have put into creating it. It’s an amazing feeling to know that my work has the power to move and inspire others. Recognition also gives me the motivation to continue to push myself and evolve my craft, knowing that my efforts have the potential to make a positive impact on the world.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

SHARE. One of the best things you can do to support artists is to actively engage with and share their work. Whether it’s music, art, or any other form of creativity, word of mouth is a powerful thing that can help get an artist’s name out into the world and reach a wider audience. As an artist, having others share and repost my work can make a huge difference in terms of exposure and recognition. So, if you have a friend who is a creative, take the time to share their work and help them connect with new fans. By supporting each other in this way, we can all contribute to a thriving and vibrant creative community.
