We recently connected with Patricia Reid and have shared our conversation below.
Patricia, appreciate you joining us today. Have you ever seen (or implemented) a really awesome way to show a client you appreciate them
Typically, I provide customized presents to all my clients. Throughout the process, I pay attention to their preferences and characteristics. Recently, I had a client who’s a teacher and goes by the nickname “sunshine,” which is evident from her car tag and email. As part of her closing gift, I gave her a special mug that read “Teachers are important,” personalized with the word “Sunshine.” When I handed it to her during the closing, she became emotional. I think she was touched that I had noticed her nickname and incorporated it into the gift.
Patricia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a Miami native turned Atlanta resident since 2009, I have been immersed in the world of Real Estate for a decade. My journey in the industry started as an Assistant Property Manager and progressed to roles as a Leasing Manager, Loan Processor, and ultimately, as an Investor and Realtor.
I view myself as a trusted advisor who strives to guide and support my clients through the buying and selling process. With five years of experience as a Realtor, I am driven by a passion to help individuals find their dream home and make their homeownership dreams a reality. I am proud that I have been able to help over 30 families buy and/or sell. I also pride myself in educating my clients on the process of buying and selling. Being patient and available for questions and guidance during this major purchase or sale.
When I am not working, I enjoy exploring new restaurants, traveling, and spending quality time with my loved ones. I am an outgoing individual who loves to network and make new connections. My upbeat personality and infectious smile reflect my approach to life – I like to keep things light and don’t take myself too seriously. Additionally, I am dedicated to empowering women and have created a Meetup Group, “Heal-Empower-Socialize,” to bring women together for fun events, educational seminars, and more..
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
An important lesson for me was the transition from being an employee to becoming a business owner. Having spent a significant time in the corporate world, I had grown accustomed to having marketing and advertising expenses covered. However, I swiftly had to change that perspective and unlearn that this expense was covered. As a business owner, allocating a budget for marketing and advertising becomes essential. I learned to incorporate a marketing budget from my commissions.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Social media has played a significant role in enhancing my reputation as a realtor. It serves as a digital portfolio showcasing various successful closings where I’ve assisted families. Through my posts, I’ve secured sales but also established a women’s group that has now been a referral source for me.
