We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Patricia Regina a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Patricia, appreciate you joining us today. Who is your hero and why? What lessons have you learned from them and how have they influenced your journey?
My hero is, and always will be my mother. I did not come from a wealthy family by any means, and I came from a single parent household. My mother worked three low-paying jobs to support her family, which included me my brother and my sister. She really truly sacrificed anything she ever wanted to focus on our needs looking back now. I would see that she would eat after rest because we never had enough to eat yet. We never felt it or want it for anything.. sadly we lost her to breast cancer years ago and she really never got to enjoy her life as she sacrificed everything for the needs of her children. Her selfless dedication is what motivates me on a daily basis, as I strive to make her proud from up above.
Patricia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well, I started this business with absolutely nothing. I’ve worked every aspect of this business from sales to production for some of the largest brands in the industry.. my grandfather was a jeweler so my life always was focused on jewelry, as I truly am obsessed with creating unique pieces. Jewelry has alway been my art. I was working for a major brand and calling out issues with production, and they were truly focused on profitability rather than making quality pieces and it angered me.. so I decided to partner with someone who I knew was just as passionate as me and we created this brand. Anna focused on production and I focused on web and social media and we truly work off of each other’s strengths. We have truly build the following best. I’m not spending any money on advertising and working off of word of mouth from our loyal clients. We do all of Tamron Hall’s jewelry so we build a business off of her following as well. What truly makes us proud is that we don’t carry anything that we do not stand behind. We offer a lifetime warranty on our jewelry and we truly are always focused on getting better and hand, selecting and creating our pieces.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
We really didn’t start the business with much and most of it I figured out on my own as we didn’t have the funds to pay these big PR firms like a lot of other brands. I never designed a website, but I figured it out when we open this business which allowed me to be creative and truly make things how I envisioned. We thought it would be so easy, but if it wasn’t for our loyal clients we wouldn’t have survived year one. I created all the email campaigns with no experience, social media, Instagram TikTok. It was all a learning curve. But I feel that if you really want something bad enough and you dedicate all your time to it, anything is possible never allow people to tell you that you can’t do some thing as for me it makes me work even harder.
How’d you meet your business partner?
I met my cofounder Anna working at a large brand under owners, who had no knowledge of jewelry, not even a passion for it they looked at it as a money grab however, it’s very challenging to work under people who don’t understand the business or what quality is. For me if my name is on the door, I will not put out anything. That’s not phenomenal. And both of us decided we can do better. We can put out products that we can proudly say we have created or sourced for our clients.
