We were lucky to catch up with Patricia Legette recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Patricia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I have always loved anything fashion related. I remember at the age of 6 years old standing in front of my mom’s full size dressing mirror and wearing one of her heels and colourful scarves as a top thinking I was hottest thing ever 😁
The feeling that I felt back then (wholesome), pushed me to put one of my talents on display right after being temporarily laid off work in 2020. I was not very active on any social media platforms prior to this ordeal but I started working my way up to being a personal stylist by taking online courses and staying closer to God in prayer.
I am very appreciative for all my struggles in life because I would not be where I am today without them. My main goal as a personal stylist is to help people sharpen their restyling skills using a focal point items to create their daily outfits. This will help cut doing overspending and also educate them on being intentional buyers. My business is thriving now because of this approach and I couldn’t be happier.
The support from my family and friends have been incredible. This business has opened doors to gaining new customers and new business opportunities on and off social media platforms. I thank God every day for all the hidden blessings that surfaced in the midst of my troubles.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Patricia Legette. A mom to a beautiful princess, Project Manager (one of the environmental laboratories in Canada) on weekdays and a Personal Stylist on weekends. I have immense passion for fashion and it was just right to finally step up and walk in my purpose. I hope to make this a full time job one day.
I got into the fashion industry in 2020 after being temporarily unemployed. The services that I offer are personal styling, wardrobe consultation and personal shopper.
I have helped my clients get clarity on how to achieve their unique style and how to also build intentional capsule wardrobe.
I believe what sets me apart from others is my approach to helping clients sharpen their restyling skills after knowing their unique style. I am proud to say that my end goal for all my clients is to spend less, save more and stay stylish.
I want my potential customers to know my brand by the points I have listed below.
My goals is to;
1. Help you find your unique style.
2. Provide you with useful information on how to shop for your body type.
3. Help you build a practical and intentional capsule wardrobe.
4. Help boost your confidence by teaching you ways to improve your restyling skills.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
For example, I started on Instagram with about 98 followers in 2019 and I currently have 11.6K followers. The secret to my success is being authentic and also being consistent on sharing my personal styling skills with my audience.
My advice to anyone looking to increase their audience on any social media platform is to be authentically you and educate people with your knowledge and skills.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had put out the thought of thinking that people will automatically gravitate toward me and my ideas or business approach just for showing up everyday. Building a business or personal branding is not easy. It requires a strong work ethic and knowledge in your field to bring it to fruition.
The truth is, there are many personal stylists on these platforms but we have different approaches and skills that sets us apart from each other so investing in your craftsmanship is crucial.
