We recently connected with Patricia Greenberg and have shared our conversation below.
Patricia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
I was eating well, and exercising and decided to train for a marathon. It took months of training and when the big day came there was a storm, and yet I decided to run it anyway. Tons of people were dropping out and when I crossed the finish line I realized I could do anything I set out to do. I went on to run 20 marathons and 110 half marathons. As I went along I realized that there is a big wide world out there and as you get older, there is so much you can accomplish. It was along this path that I decided to specialize in healthy Aging and it opened up a whole new career path for me. I now have 4 books, a radio show and a strong media presence surrounding the the topics of Eating Well, Living Well, and Aging Well.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
My professional moniker is Patricia Greenberg, AKA. The Fitness Gourmet
I believe in sharing bite sized livable health, nutrition and fitness solutions for people of all ages.
As an Aging Well Coach, I recommend taking tiny, manageable steps toward the bigger goal of having a healthy, happy, well rounded life until a ripe old age.
As the creator of Eat Well, Live Well, Age Well , I teach seminars and consult privately and with companies on how to set up employees for success and productivity both at the job and into retirement. I am the host of a weekly show, also called Eat Well, Live Well, Age Well, which is available on YouTube and as a podcast worldwide. I really love to enhance the education of the general public, and provide accurate health information to today’s consumer.
Passionate about wellness for life, I have completed 20 marathons and 115 half marathons, and now in my 60’s I participate in the sport of tower climbing, having conquered buildings all over the country.
Personally, I am married with a grown daughter, and I love to read, hosting a book club each month, and knit scarves to donate to individuals and charities in need.
A lot of people ask me how I got to this point, and the answer is to continue to learn. Always be a student of the world. I have a BA in Nutrition, a degree in Culinary Arts, and I am certified as a Nutritionist, Personal Trainer and Health Coach, specializing in Aging Well
Throughout the years I wrote 4 books, all focused on eating well and living well, which leads to aging well. You can read all about me at www.Eatwelllivewellagewell.com
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Everyone sees the end result of my success and thinks, “Wow, how did you get there”? I have always worked hard at learning from others. No job should be beneath you, and it is important to hear everyone’s point of view.
As I went along on my path, I honed my skills of sharing accurate health information with the public by double and triple checking the work, and researching advances in science that were relevant to aging well.
I stayed very consistent in my message, and never talk about subjects that I don’t have expertise in.
I started with teaching, both at professional schools and special interest classes which lead to speaking engagements, which lead to book contracts, then radio and TV. After many years of working at this on a small scale, I was able to move into larger markets with confidence, eventually making my way to the national scene.
Now, I am sought after as an expert in all things Aging Well, and keep my mind and my heart open for what is around the corner.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Many people have asked me about my career choice and would I do it all over again. When I started out, I wanted to be a dentist and I took premed courses. Nutrition was a requirement for graduation and I loved it so much, I switched my major. It sent me back a few years to catch up, but it was the best decision for me. Not only do I help people feel better about aging, I have managed to keep myself very healthy as well. The only thing I would probably do different is pursue a medical degree.
