We were lucky to catch up with Patricia Fox recently and have shared our conversation below.
Patricia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
There was a moment—a quiet, holy pause—where I stood at a crossroads with nothing but a whisper from God and a stirring in my soul. That’s how Ja’ja Chews was born. Not out of strategy, not out of certainty, but out of crying out in desperation.
For years, I had suffered with Lupus, Gastroparesis, Heart and so many complications with my health. I can vividly remember that summer afternoon in 2020. Still not fully recovered from a flare/ episode on Mother’s Day. My weight was down to 99 lbs and my gastrointestinal doctor was suggesting a feeding tube. I was done with this thing called life. I cried out to God pleading with Him to take me home to Him, after all my three children were/almost adults. I guess I cried myself to sleep because upon awakening. I heard the audible voice. Go get some lemon, ginger and garlic. Familiar with this voice. I proceeded to get up and go into this natural fresh produce market that had only been opened for business for a year, in 2019. I had no desire or interest going into that market because I couldn’t eat or enjoy foods any longer. Gastroparesis had its full clutch in me. So why torture myself by patronizing such place, just to wind up in the hospital again. I had never held a piece of ginger root in my life before, standing in the produce section was like an out of body experience. I proceeded to gather everything into my arms. No shopping cart, I was just on autopilot. On my way to the checkout. I heard that voice again, instructing me to pick up one of the honey bottles that had caught my eye. The display was literally honey bottles stacked from floor to ceiling. After plopping everything on the counter. The cashier looks at me, looks at the items on the checkout belt and looks back at me and says “ Oh wow! You’re getting ready to make something spectacular!” I laughed and smiled as I said to her I don’t know what I’m getting ready to do. The rest of this story is definitely God guided, the idea of turning this non conventional remedy into a business? That felt too big, too risky… until God made it clear that the “too big” things were exactly where He does His best work. He was healing my body.
I remember the night I prayed, asking God if this dream was just mine or if it was something He planted. I wasn’t looking for a business—I was looking for purpose. And I heard it. Not in a loud voice, but in that still, knowing way only God can speak: “Go. I’ve already made the way.”
That was all I had—a “Go.” No funding. No plan. Just faith. And so, I stepped.
I started testing the recipes in my kitchen, turning my healing blend into chews, each batch filled with prayer, love, and belief. Some days, I cried while stirring the batches—tears of fear, joy, and the weight of obedience. Other days, I wrestled with doubt. But every time I questioned the risk, God reminded me: this isn’t just a product. It’s an assignment. I did bloodwork that October. The nurse called me and told me that ALL MY LABS WERE NORMAL!
As I shared Ja’ja Chews with friends and family, testimonies started pouring in—how it eased a cough, soothed a stomach, or simply brought comfort. That’s when I knew it wasn’t about selling something. It was about serving someone. One chew at a time.
Faith was never just a part of the journey—it led the way. When opportunities came, I prayed. When doors closed, I trusted. When I felt unseen, I remembered Scripture: “The Lord directs the steps of the righteous” (Psalm 32:8). The LORD says, “ I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. “This was bigger than me. It had to be.
Today, every bag and canister of Ja’ja Chews carries more than natural ingredients—it carries the testimony of a woman who chose to lead with faith. Who didn’t have all the answers, but had the courage to trust the One who did. I believe healing is God’s heart. And through this little chew, He’s reminding people that they’re seen, they’re cared for, and they’re loved.
If you’ve ever wondered whether faith can really lead you somewhere real—let me be your witness. It can. It does. And I pray Ja’ja Chews is proof that when you put God first, He writes a story better than you could ever imagine.
And this? This is just the beginning.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m just a mom and grandmother who answered the call of God on July 13th 2020. Surrendering and giving Him my YES has altered my life forever! Approaching my fifth year- 100% healthy and free from prescription medication. My assignment is to tell everyone about Ja’ja Chews and my testimony- God does the rest. I have a website www.jajachews.com
And I am on Instagram @jajachews.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I haven’t given up yet! And I don’t perceive myself to give up. This journey is so much easier than me trying to figure this thing called life out on my own. A lot of doors were closed. A lot of relationships ran its course, all part of the path of obedience. Obedience is key- Yes, you will shed A LOT of tears. Yes, you will encounter betrayal.
Yes, you will feel isolated and alone sometimes, but you’re not. You are right where you’re Supposed to be.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
People trust me. They trust the results. I never take credit for any of it. Recognizing, I’m not for everyone. I’m here for the ones who God sends me.
