We recently connected with Patricia Ferreira and have shared our conversation below.

Patricia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later

I wish I had started my business sooner. I think back to all the time spent unfulfilled and supporting someone else’s goals and wonder why it took me so long to choose me. I started my current coaching business in 2015 After almost 33 years in corporate America. Before this time, I had dipped my toe into entrepreneurship and always chose the job over myself. Leaving the safety of a salary, health insurance, and other employment benefits felt irresponsible and selfish.
I realize now that it was all about what I believed was possible. I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs. My grandmother had several businesses, and so did my mother and her sisters. However, they were what I call entrepreneurs by need. It was their only way to make a living because they did not have an education. So part of me viewed having my own business as less of an achievement than being an executive. My family put all their time, sweat, and tears into their business, which made me believe that having my own business meant no time to live and enjoy life.

It was not until my mother passed that I began to ask myself critical questions.
Questions like:
What do I really want to experience during this lifetime?
What are my strongest desires?
What would make me feel fulfilled and joyful?
It took that level of loss and pain to wake me up to my soul’s desire. And although I know everything I experienced has happened for me and is a specific piece of my life’s path, I can’t help but wish I would have chosen myself sooner.

My current mission is to awaken women to their power and potential, so they don’t make the same mistake I made. Helping a woman break free from limiting beliefs and trust herself to become more is very meaningful and fulfilling for me, the woman, her family, and the world. More the reason why I wish I would have started doing this sooner.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I am a Women’s Success Catalyst, Life Mentor & Intuitive Business Strategist. I began my coaching career as a business coach. Mainly focused on teaching the business development steps and strategies I accumulated during my years as an international brand and marketing professional. My focus was helping femprenuers perfect their business model, packages, prices, & sales skills. Until I began to recognize a pattern in the results women were experiencing, I realized that a woman’s success was more a result of her mindset and personal beliefs.

As a result of these findings, I introduced more around mindset, self-trust, and inner work. All so that women could shed the beliefs keeping them small or stuck.

I know now that this foundational work is the key to anything a soul desires in life. I intuitively guide a woman through self-discovery that results in her breaking free from limiting beliefs or behaviors created by conditioning or culturalization—all the patterns of sacrificing, settling, and suffering instilled by patriarchy or marginalization. Instead, I teach a woman how to tap into her true self and power to access more clarity, confidence, and courage in all her life areas.

This work dissolves all toxic beliefs, ancestral wounds, or karmic chains; it elevates your consciousness and ability to reach your goals. Furthermore, once one gets into the right relationship with worthiness, money, and time, it immediately positively impacts your life, business, and family.

What sets me apart is that I approach this work like a “third-grader teaching a first-grader.” Everything I usher a client through is something I’ve already experienced and embodied myself. In my going first and doing this work for myself, I have gained the intuition, wisdom, and lived experience to guide another. Another thing that sets my work apart is the importance allotted to meeting a woman where she is. Every individual has had a unique set of conditions and circumstances. Holding space for that and creating a solution fit for their particular needs is essential to her success. I take the time to understand a woman’s specific set of circumstances, and her soul desires to curate a pathway upwards and forwards that fits her highest purpose. This level of fulfillment and success cannot be accomplished with a “one size fits all” approach.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

The lesson that has made the most significant impact on my success is learning to put myself first. Making other people’s thoughts, beliefs, needs, and wants more important than my own was something I had to unlearn. I spent a lot of years chasing things I thought I wanted. I just went about life filling other people’s expectations of me. And I Never stopped to check in with myself and what I deeply desired.

My commitment today is to choose ME over everything.
I know this is easier said than done.

Especially since most of us have been trained and drilled to put everyone else before ourselves.

You may have been shamed for thinking of yourself or caring for your needs first.
It may have been what other loved ones modeled that subsequently became your behavior. We’ve all heard the eagle’s story that was brought up by chickens and never learned to soar.

Or maybe the acceptance & approval received when you generously gave away your power made you quickly realize that this way was easier.

Whatever it may be for you, the underlying belief running the show is “Putting myself first is wrong.”

The thoughts accompanying that belief sound like “What will they say” “Who do I think I am?” “How dare I.”

Therefore we turn into what others expect to get our needs met.
Hence all the masks & subpersonalities
People Pleaser
Overachiever
Control Freak
Caretaker

And here we are.
Lost, confused, not knowing who we are.
Much less trusting ourselves.

So the first step to choosing you is to Get To Know Yourself.
Your dislikes & likes
Your No’s & your Yes’s
What inspires you?
What fills your heart?
What matters to you?

Second Befriend Yourself
Stop being so hard on yourself, secretly dismissing and diminishing yourself and depleting yourself.
Find ways to care for yourself and love yourself.
I’m not talking about a mani-pedi.
I’m talking about discovering what you need to feel safe, at peace, and inspired.
Hint: It typically involves setting new boundaries and evaluating your relationships and environment for most.

Third Take A Stand For Yourself.
Stop playing small.
Believe in yourself.
Tap into your power.
Trust in your decisions.
Show up unapologetically authentic
Speak up.

This will result in the Clarity, Confidence & Courage to walk through these times.
This will result in faith and trust yourself to build the new.
Whatever the new is for you.
A new business or career
A new lover
A new relationship with money, health, time, sex, power.

And this is where the magic begins. The world starts to reorganize. Opportunities show up unexpectedly, and you become a super attractor to the things you so deeply desire.

It all starts with putting yourself first.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

I’m a believer in referrals and organic marketing.

Every platform where I can share my world and express myself authentically and transparently allows potential clients to get to know and trust me. This has proven to be a quicker path to new and more aligned clients than structured marketing processes like funnels, ads or AI.

I believe in email campaigns and growing an organic email list. Showing up fearlessly authentic and fully self expressed on social media. Speaking events and appearing on podcasts or other influencers platforms. Even things like writing this article and appearing in different magazines allow your true voice. to come through and connect with potential clients in search of your services.

Although I currently do paid ads marketing and am exploring with things like lead generators etc. living my brand and services has been the most powerful marketing for me so far.
