We were lucky to catch up with Patricia Bebia recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Patricia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is The Life Coach film. This project is deeply personal to me, as it explores themes of mental health, resilience, and authenticity—topics that are often overlooked. In the film, amidst fame, Gary’s hidden struggles rooted in childhood trauma is exposed by an online connection that forces him to confront his demons and start a journey of healing and authenticity.
In today’s world, many individuals conceal their true selves behind a mask, often due to societal pressures and the stigma surrounding mental health. This observation inspired me to create The Life Coach film, aiming to shed light on the importance of authenticity, the strength of human connection, and the profound impact of love in the healing process. By delving into these themes, I hope to encourage open conversations about mental health and inspire others to embrace their true selves.
The film has been recognized at various film festivals, including winning the Audience Choice Award at the CaribbeanTales International Film Festival and Best Actor at the Paris Women Cinefest. It was as official selection for the New York African Diaspora Film Festival. These accolades affirm the film’s impact and the importance of bringing these themes to the forefront.
The Life Coach is not just a film; it’s a moveme

Patricia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a media entrepreneur, producer, and host dedicated to amplifying diverse voices and stories. My journey began in Nigeria, where I hosted television programs such as Lunch Date and Thinking About You. Upon moving to Canada in 2000, I pursued studies at Algonquin College of Science and Technology. After which I co created the Planet Africa show on OMNI TV, highlighting the achievements and experiences of the African diaspora.
In 2016, I was involved with the launch of Afroglobal Television, a 24-hour channel available on major Canadian cable platforms, dedicated to showcasing the richness of the Black community both nationally and internationally. As the Executive Vice President of Silvertrust Media and Afroglobal Television, I have directed and produced over 20 television programs, including The Golden Button, The Visionaries and Standing Ovation.
Our services encompass broadcasting, publishing, and multimedia production, aiming to inform, empower, and entertain. We address the underrepresentation of diverse narratives in media by providing platforms that celebrate and document these stories. What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to excellence and authenticity in storytelling.
I am particularly proud of my new feature film, “The Life Coach,” which premiered in Toronto in 2024, delving into themes of mental health, the importance of authenticity, the redemptive power of love and the constant need for personal growth.
Additionally, I am associate publisher of publications, such as Excellence Magazine, Destiny Magazine and Envision Magazine. I am the publisher of Leaders and Icons Magazine which also has a TV component. Through this project I have interviewed presidents, corporate leaders and world class celebrities.
Through these initiatives, the aim has been to inspire, transform, and empower individuals by showcasing stories that resonate and uplift. The brands I have been involved with stand as a testament to the power of representation and the impact of sharing authentic experiences.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
As a producer and director of The Life Coach film, I believe that managing a team effectively and maintaining high morale starts with creating an environment where people feel valued, heard, and inspired. I made it a priority to foster a conducive atmosphere for creativity, where everyone—cast and crew—felt empowered to bring their best to the project. When people feel that their contributions matter, they invest themselves fully.
One of the most important aspects of leadership is being sensitive to the needs of the team. Film production is demanding, both physically and emotionally, so I paid attention to how people were feeling, ensured they had what they needed to perform at their best, and encouraged open communication. A happy team creates magic on screen.
I also found that collaboration and shared vision are key. I made sure everyone understood the deeper purpose of the film—its themes of authenticity, resilience, redemptive power pf love and mental health—and encouraged them to connect with it personally. When your team believes in the project, they give their all, not just because it’s a job, but because they see its impact.
Lastly, leading by example is crucial. As a director, I stayed committed, focused, and adaptable, setting the tone for the entire team. I encouraged positivity, celebrated small wins, and made sure that no one felt like they were just filling a role—they were part of something meaningful. Keeping morale high is about making sure people feel respected, supported, and inspired to give their best every step of the way.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Building a reputable presence in the media industry has been a journey rooted in a clear understanding of my purpose and an unwavering commitment to excellence. From the outset, I recognized the importance of knowing my “why”—to amplify underrepresented voices and share stories that inspire and empower. This clarity has been the driving force behind every project I’ve undertaken.
Consistency has been another cornerstone of my journey. By delivering quality content through platforms like the “Planet Africa” show and Afroglobal Television, magazines and events, I have been involved with establishing trusted brands that our audience relies on.
Assembling the right team has been pivotal. Engaging individuals who share the vision and bring diverse talents to the table has enabled us to execute projects with precision and creativity. Building strategic leadership is also pivotal in making a bigger impact.
Engaging with our target audience has always been a priority. By understanding their needs and preferences, we’ve tailored our content to resonate deeply, fostering a sense of community and belonging. This engagement has been instrumental in building a brand that our audience feels connected to.
Creativity and innovation have set us apart in a competitive market. By exploring new storytelling techniques and embracing emerging technologies, we’ve kept our content fresh and relevant. This forward-thinking approach has not only attracted a diverse audience but has also led to longevity.
In essence, a clear purpose, consistent excellence, a dedicated team, meaningful audience engagement, and a commitment to creativity have been the pillars supporting my reputation in the market. These elements have coalesced to create brands that stands for quality, integrity, and impactful storytelling.
