We recently connected with Patricia Barnes and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Patricia, thanks for joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
As an author the process of idea to execution is transformational with time. The more you take time to craft your idea to execution the better it gets. My new book is in the making. It’s a collection of several unpublished blog posts that I wrote years ago. I decided to make it a book in 2021 and added more information. I keep changing the title. I’m happy this year the book will officially be published.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I’m proud of how my business has evolved from blogging to now published author. I’m a four-time #1 best- selling author and three-time international best-selling author. As the founder of Go Patty LLC, which the mission is to teach, encourage, and motivate others to reach their full potential as well as to live a golden life with big dreams despite your pain, struggles, fears, and insecurities. Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn my personality trait to never chase. Naturally as a woman we don’t chase. It’s really unnatural for me to chase. In relationships never had to work hard to get and maintain relationships. People usually call me more than I call them. I’m the girl who will show up for you but not much of the initial person to reach out. Although, I’m working on that, I usually don’t like people who call or text me more than once. Trust me, I received your missed text or call the first time. Please give me time to respond. I’m the type of person who won’t call or text you a million times if you don’t respond to my initial message or phone call. But in business I had to learn, you must harass people. Although, it’s technically not harassment. If you want to make the sale get assertive and don’t stop until you close the deal.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is the best platform to build your audience and gain new customers. Entrepreneurship really will push introverts to either pursue their dreams or remain an employee. Earlier I mentioned how I had to unlearn to never chase and initiate by reaching out to people first to build a team and community. The best way to build social media presence is to join Facebook groups and follow influencers in your niche. Don’t stop until you reach your goals.
