We were lucky to catch up with Patrice Hudson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Patrice, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Think luxury picnic where curated design meets chef-inspired charcuterie and you don’t have to lift a finger- that’s a Picnic Curfew. We take care of all the details- we scout the perfect location, bring the food and set it up to look amazing. Plus, we clean everything up when you’re done so you can walk off into the sunset. No matter what you’re celebrating, whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, proposal or one of life’s everyday wins (like making time for a girl’s weekend brunch!) we want to help you create the most inspiring, unique and relaxing experience.
Patrice, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a fashion enthusiast that has worked in New York, Miami, and Columbus fashion week. My background includes blogging, styling, and managing two businesses. I solve problems on planning events for your special day. Once we discuss what you like and don’t like the rest is on us. We love to provide solutions all while making the picnic enjoyable. We specialize in luxury picnics, anniversaries, and more. What sets us apart from the competition is our personal level experience and years of proving excellent customer service. Each client receives a questionnaire for personalized questions to ensure the event is 100% catered to them.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Funding my business was strictly from my savings. I didn’t receive any outside money to start up the business. Being a entrepreneur, you have to use your resources in order to help you grow. Managing your money is essential if you want to start a business.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source for new clients is social media. Social media has played a major part in the growing phase of the business. Word of mouth was also important. Word-of-mouth marketing helps a company reach new audiences and build a positive brand reputation. By using this unique and organic means of marketing, businesses can attract customers and increase profitability all while strengthening their connection with their existing patrons. The support of being featured in magazines has truly grown the business as well. I learned when you are growing your business it is best to grow organically by putting yourself out there so potential customers can see you.
