We were lucky to catch up with Patrice Hector recently and have shared our conversation below.
Patrice , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
I believe making small changes daily will lead to great distances through consistency and discipline. Committing to yourself first always will help you move onward and upward. Mindfully, spiritually, physically and financially! You are in charge of your destiny. Take a hold of and discover your gifts and walk with them in confidence!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have over 30 years of experience in the beauty industry. I can and have done it all, but my expertise is cutting and styling short hair and mentoring beauty pros who want to grow themselves and their beauty brand. With a trusted reputation, I am the owner of K.P. Images Salon based in Atlanta, Georgia. I am most proud of the latest book I’ve recently launched where I share my journey’s ups and downs as a beauty professional. I give actionable tips and tools to move forward and evolve well in the beauty industry. It’s a super quick read for those in industry or just entrepreneurs in general!
One of my favorite quotes I wrote a few years ago is, “If you want to achieve great things, you must be a great leader. You must be that person who captures a vision, communicates it to others while inspiring and empowering them to discover or redefine their dreams.”
Over the years and to this day, I am learning to work through my fears and be the change I want to see in my life. It’s important to drive in your own lane and make your own choices for yourself. People can influence you, but no one can do the work for you, but you.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is a great place to start marketing and building a brand for your business. This platform allows you to create your own content for a self built community to see. I created a social media calendar of content that I want to be known for. For example, in my industry, clients are looking online all day for services and products. I had to learn how, what and when to post content specifically targeting this audience. I found a few models who liked rocking short hairstyles and taking pictures. I would do their hair weekly and we would have a mini photoshoot after I finished styling them. I would post pictures and videos on my page and they would do the same. We would tag other pages related to the beauty industry and add trending and our own hashtags. Each day, I’d post something different. I posted about 3x a day.
Again, consistency stands as a golden key to success. This routine let new followers know that I was actively going to produce new content and that my work ethic and skill set was routine. Pay attention to the content you get the most interaction from and post more of these things. Keep building your content, try new things and watch how your business shifts for the better!

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
In the midst of me finding my niche in the beauty industry, I wanted to create products that align with my brand while allowing me to sell and make more passive income. I created a line of tshirts and a financial planner for beauty professionals to monitor and manage their money on a daily basis. These products operating through shopify was/is the easiest way for me to set up and manage my sales. As mentioned, my most recent and proudest baby (besides my actual daughter) is my book: “The Ultimate Blueprint for Beauty Professionals” available on my website, Shopify and Amazon for hard and digital copy. I sell all items online to ensure every person connected to me has access. I don’t ever want to produce products that are out of reach. It took a while to get here, but I can confidently say I’m producing helpful tools that allow me to make money in my sleep.
Shameless Plug: In the fall, I will be introducing my monthly membership program to help beauty professionals and entrepreneurs in need of finding their way to success in the industry behind and beyond the chair.
Stay tuned!
