We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Patrice Brantley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Patrice below.
Alright, Patrice thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The Seed Sowing Sistah Movement (3SMovement, LLC) is a company focused on “the WHOLE PERSON” approach to mental wellness for educators and the global community at large. We specialize in mental wellness on every level. This mission was birthed out of me being a teacher for nearly two decades who left the classroom because of burnout, no/low support from admin and/or parents, and feeling like there was nowhere to turn. By the time I left the classroom, I was 100 lbs heavier, battling anxiety and depression at every turn, and feeling like I had truly wasted my life and time trying to work within a system that had not only left the kids behind but the educators too. So in 2015, the Seed Sowing Sistah Movement was born via a conversation with a friend who told me: you know the problem. Now how can you be the solution? So I went to work and created the solution. The Seed Sowing Sistah Movement is a company with the heart for educators that focuses on the whole person in the areas of one-on-one counseling sessions which are covered by insurance, life coaching, wellness workshops, and support groups.

Patrice , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Patrice is a native Floridian, who lives by the motto “”Be inspired to be yourself and be inspired to empower someone else. She has always been a person who focused on inspiring and helping others. It all started from her dream of wanting to be a schoolteacher. She finally walked into her childhood dream of being a teacher in 1999 when she started working in the public school system and later went back to school to study Psychology with the hopes of using her skills in the public school system. Yet, in 2015, when her burnout reached its fever pitch she happily retired from the school system and started her second career journey as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in a variety of settings. So armed with education and a heart full of determination to make a difference. She stepped out and opened the Seed Sowing Sistah Movement, LLC in 2022.
The brand is focused on Mental Wellness for all and meeting people where they are. Some of our services are one-on-one counseling services, Christian counseling services, monthly community workshops, speaking events, and support groups. Some of the products we sell are family talk-to-me cards, journals, mental wellness portal subscriptions, and the Counselor in a Box (CIB) collection.
These services and products help people to assess and evaluate their mental wellness and give them healthy techniques and strategies to take hold of their mental wellness using the “WHOLE” person approach.
There are two major things that I am very proud of: 1. Helping people to manage or reduce their mental health symptoms using natural ways. 2. Assisting employers to help their employee to overcome their work-related stress and reignite their passion for life while remaining in their jobs. “I always say an outstanding employer does not only invest in the person but in their overall health and wellbeing.”

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Sure, there have been so many. The most important lesson I learned was that you don’t have to work for 30 years for someone else’s dream and later live your dreams.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
At the beginning of this venture. I had a clear vision of what I thought the business was going to look like. Yet, over time I had to accept and pivot from my vision to what was the better vision for the business. For example, moving from the one-on-ones to the group format and being open to the new opportunities that were presenting themselves in the form of challenges. This change moved me from the barely making it to moving into my abundance. The lesson was don’t be so stuck in your vision that you can’t see your next great opportunity.
