We recently connected with Patch Suha and have shared our conversation below.
Patch, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
There was a time I played basketball and I wanted to be in the nba. Let’s just say that I wasn’t cut out for that life, but during that period, I usually liked to design clothes. It worked the part of my brain that it was best at: creativity. I even seriously discussed a travel team with my friends like the globetrotters, and that was when I really honed in on the designing part. Of course it was less glamorous then the sports world and this is high school, so I really didn’t think much of it. Fast forward college, moved on from that life but during business class, I was in this “passive income” phase and I just decided to leap in on the clothing brand market after hearing about a student who became successful because of it. Now the thing was, I knew I wanted it to be motivational but that’s super saturated so I did something else: I included my Buddhist philosophy and graphics in the brand. That only snowballed into a brand that yes is motivational, but it had meaningful standout graphics and a focus on spiritual growth and resilience as well as exploring human nature. That is what serrated my brand identity. I’m sure as I get older more ideas and wisdom will come and I can express it through my brand.

Patch, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I design clothes but I use Buddhist inspired philosophy most of the time with my own twist in it. The brand is built on resilience and spiritual growth. It’s not like the other brands with big face graphic tees and polyester clothes, if I won’t wear it why would anybody else?

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Absolutely, when I was finally letting go of my basketball phase, it was a difficult choice, but I knew I had to move on. That being said, I hadn’t seriously consider my clothing brand move yet, but I took a leap of faith into the unknown. Figured I’d wander for a bit, not all who wander are lost. I explored many interests, but eventually, during my first semester and in a business class, that was when I saw someone who did it. That was the only switch I needed to go all in on my brand.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Post consistently. Also be honest with yourself, is what you’re doing unique? Is your product or videos unique? What I’ll say is don’t try to spin the wheel just yet, ride the flow and see what others are doing in your niche. Copy them for a while and get consistent to build your audience up. For example, I did engagement baits often, and it used b roll footage that showed my models and clothes. Ever since then I kept going. Now I can introduce a new shirt and I’ll know at least 1k people will see it in their reels.
