Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Passion Gamble. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Passion, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on would be one of my most recent creations titled “Let the Paint Dry” that I completed earlier this year. It is a vibrant, multi-colored painting of a woman’s body on a 24″ x 36″ canvas panel with a resin finish.
While I was watching a TED talk one morning of an artist explaining his art, he mentioned his mentor stating “Man, you just don’t let the paint dry” while he was creating a piece of artwork and letting the colors mix. When I heard that, I instantly started thinking to myself, sometimes we don’t let the paint dry in life, and by that, I mean we sometimes don’t allow things to process. We go through experiences/changes in life where it can seem overwhelming, stressful, and uncertain but while going through those experiences/changes we tend to either try to find a way out or rush the process when we should be allowing ourselves to comprehend what is happening in that moment (easier said than done). If we allow ourselves to take in what is happening, this will help us open our eyes and reach the goals we have set for ourselves to create the masterpieces we desire.
I decided to use a woman’s body for “Let the Paint Dry” because the woman’s body itself is a masterpiece, it goes through so many changes. I used different colors within the painting, but for the paint to settle the way I wanted it to be and not mix, I had to allow each stroke of paint to dry. So with that being said, to get to the masterpiece you desire, you have to allow things to settle and let the paint dry!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?
I am an outgoing, creative, hardworking, and welcoming person that is always looking for opportunities that’ll elevate myself and my business. Outside of all that, I love being around nature with my dog, hanging with friends, and finding neat places to visit.
I always had a passion for art, but during the pandemic in 2020, I discovered I could paint/draw when I decided to use it as a way to decompress. After creating artwork for myself, clients giving me the opportunities to bring their vision to life, and submitting my artwork to local art callings, I decided to make it more official by establishing it as a business which I am very excited about! I provide custom-made artwork on traditional canvas or panels, but I will paint on anything, for example, serving trays and laptop/phone cases.
What sets me apart is how I work and communicate with my clients. Before I start on their order, I want to hear their vision, get to know them more by listening to them, and dig into the meaning of why they want it created. I love to hear if it is a story behind it because it allows me to bring my creative side out.
What I am most proud of at the moment is that I am stepping out of my comfort zone a lot this year by starting my business on my own, creating my website, and getting more involved with the art community by submitting more of my work, and entering into art shows. When potential clients see Passionate Flows LLC, I want them to know I am very passionate about everything I do. Every piece I work on has meaning to it, and if I am working on a custom piece for someone I am as detailed as possible to make sure I am executing their vision to the best of my abilities.
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
I don’t know much about NFTs, but I have been doing research and connecting with one of my peers that is very involved in digital assets to gain more knowledge about the market. Since tech is on the rise, NFTs are great opportunities for someone to showcase their work digitally and get more noticed as a creative, especially if there is a story behind the collection they created.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is seeing how my work can impact others. When I am working on a custom piece for a client, I provide updates throughout the process to keep them engaged and excited, along with asking for feedback if there is any. When I see the client’s reaction after completing the piece or receive a message about how much they love it, it gives me a warm feeling to know I was able to bring their vision to life!
