Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Parth Patel. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Parth, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
How did I come up with the idea of being a business major?
It all started back in high school, I remember sitting in my guidance counselors office discussing what I wanted to major in when I go to college. I said I was interested in majoring in Business field and at the time I did not know what degree in particular to go for. Did I even have the skills to know how to have effective communication? Do I even have the skills to be a leader or do I even find being a business major interesting at all?
It was a struggle figuring out why I even chose the idea of being a Business major. Later on, I realized one of the reasons as to why I chose to be a business major in college is because of being a YouTuber and Twitch streamer!
On November 9th, 2012, was when I had the idea of creating a YouTube channel to upload videos of myself playing video games! This gave me the idea to gain an audience that enjoys watching gaming videos on the YouTube platform! I remember I would record my gaming videos off my phone. Later on, I got a camera to record my gaming videos. After that, I started learning about programs that people use to record their videos. Becoming a content creator on YouTube was the best decision ever. It allowed me to put myself out there and to make connections! It allowed me to gain an audience that also enjoys videos games just like me! Being a content creator gave me the opportunity to collaborate with other gaming YouTubers and to make entertaining gaming videos with them! Throughout my years of being a YouTuber, I have made so many amazing friends and at this point, we’re just one big family, who always got each others backs!
I became a Twitch streamer back in 2021, this allowed me to do the same thing with YouTube. Which is to build a community and being able to actually talk with the viewers in my chat. This gave me the opportunity to become affiliated by meeting the requirements to become one. I just love being able to enjoy making gaming content over on YouTube and Twitch. It helped me to be creative and know how to make connections with others.
That is how I came up with the idea of becoming a business major in college. Being a YouTuber and Twitch streamer helped me be confident in myself and to not be afraid of putting yourself out there to make a positive impact. It has helped me learn how to build a community, collaborations, knowing how to bring value to the table, and more! It has also helped me be patient when trying to grow as a content creator. Another reason as to why I chose the idea of being a Business major is because of how I passionate I am to work on projects. I got the opportunity to work on a project with two of my favorite business professors last year during my fall semester of 2023. It was about how to get associate degree students to stay for their bachelors’ here at Indian River State College, which is the college I am at right now! If I were to offer advice to anybody out there, it would be to go out there and make connections! Be creative. Write down goals that you want to accomplish. Take baby steps as well. Practice builds confidence.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
One of the things that I would like to share is that I am also a photographer and a graphic designer! I have always wanted to get into photography back in 2017. Around 2021, I finally got into photography and started taking pictures of dogs and a bunch of other stuff too!
I started practicing graphic designing back in 2020 and still practicing to this day. I was able to improve with the help of great friends of mine when it came to graphic designing. On March 25th of 2021, was when I released my first ever merch and I have been told by people that they loved it! It made me so happy. I mainly focus on making posters that are related to anything that has to do with video games, anime/tv shows, and movies. One of the main things that I am proud of is that I made some Power Ranger posters and gave them to some of the power rangers actors when I met them at a convention!
One of the things I love about photography is that I love being able to capture the moment. It helps me be more creative and boost my confidence. I enjoy doing edited versions of the pictures I have taken. Photography has helped me mentally by boosting my decision making skills. Photography makes me happy because it creates memories with all the photos I have taken!
Fun fact about me is that I am very friendly person who loves to have a good time and to work hard! One of the things to keep in mind when getting to know me is that I am the type of person who will support you along your journey!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I started my journey on social media when I was just 12, making gaming videos on YouTube. It wasn’t anything fancy at first—just a young kid having fun with games and sharing that passion with the world. My early videos were rough. I had no idea about video editing, thumbnails, or even what an algorithm was. But I kept at it because I genuinely loved playing games and sharing that with others.
As time went on, I learned to refine my content by watching other creators and studying what made them successful. The gaming world is competitive, but my passion drove me to continuously improve. By the time I started streaming on Twitch back in 2021, I already had some experience with audience engagement. Twitch allowed me to interact with my viewers in real-time, making the experience more personal and enjoyable. This interaction helped me grow, as people love being part of a live community.
Being a business major in college shaped the way I approached content creation over time. I learned the importance of branding, audience segmentation, and consistency—lessons that I applied directly to my social media strategy. I realized that building a social media presence is more than just uploading videos; it’s about understanding your audience, giving them value, and maintaining a consistent presence.
Here are three simple pieces of advice for anyone starting to build their social media presence:
1. Consistency is Key: One of the biggest challenges is staying consistent. Whether it’s uploading videos, posting on Instagram, or streaming on Twitch, having a regular schedule keeps your audience engaged. They know when to expect content from you, and this builds trust.
2. Engage with Your Audience: People love feeling like they’re part of something. Respond to comments, acknowledge your viewers, and make them feel valued. This builds a loyal community, not just passive viewers.
3. Stay Authentic: Don’t try to be someone you’re not, even if you see trends that seem popular. Authenticity resonates more than you might think. When you’re genuine, people can tell, and they’ll stick around because of it.
Social media is a powerful tool, but it takes time, patience, and a willingness to learn from your mistakes. Starting young gave me the advantage of learning through trial and error, and my business background only helped me refine those skills as I grew. Also, make sure to have fun!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative for me is the freedom to express ideas that merge my passions—whether it’s gaming, photography, or design—into something tangible that others can connect with. Ever since I got into making gaming videos on YouTube and streaming on Twitch, the visual elements of those platforms sparked my interest in graphic design. I noticed how much artwork, thumbnails, and visual presentation mattered in grabbing people’s attention and making a lasting impression. That led me to start practicing graphic design in 2020, and since then, I’ve been hooked.
What I love about graphic design is the versatility. I can channel my love for video games, anime, TV shows, and movies into posters that capture the essence of what makes these stories great. It’s like creating a tribute to the things I’m passionate about, but with my own personal spin. I do this for fun, but it also allows me to continually refine my skills while doing something I enjoy.
Being a photographer adds another layer to my creative process. I love editing the photos I take and turning them into something unique. Whether it’s manipulating colors, adding textures, or combining different elements, photo editing gives me the chance to tell a story through images. The ability to mix my photography with design creates endless possibilities. I can take a photo of a beautiful landscape and, with some editing, turn it into a surreal, otherworldly scene.
The real reward comes from seeing how everything I create, whether it’s a gaming video, a poster, or an edited photo, resonates with others. Watching people connect with the art I produce is one of the most fulfilling feelings. It’s not just about the views or the likes, but about knowing that something I made inspired someone else or sparked joy in them.
This fusion of my interests—gaming, photography, design—has given me a creative outlet where I can explore different forms of storytelling and visual communication. It’s exciting, challenging, and, above all, deeply satisfying.
