Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?

Yes, Lens and Beyond Photography has become a full-time business, but it was a journey filled with dedication, persistence, and passion. It didn’t happen overnight. In the early days, photography was more of a side passion, and bookings were inconsistent. However, I was determined to turn it into something bigger.

One of the biggest turning points was expanding into wedding and real estate photography. Covering multi-day weddings, especially Indian weddings, allowed me to create rich, immersive storytelling experiences. Real estate photography also became a key part of the business—it was something I enjoyed and provided a steady stream of work.

Looking back, networking and marketing were crucial. Building strong relationships with vendors, planners, and past clients helped grow the business exponentially. If I could have sped up the process, I would have focused more on branding and strategic pricing early on. Understanding the value of the service and pricing it accordingly was a game-changer. The key was patience, continuous learning, and putting heart and soul into every project.

I’m Paras Zaveri, the founder of Lens and Beyond Photography. Photography started as a passion, but over time, it evolved into a career that allows me to capture and preserve the most important moments in people’s lives. From weddings and events to real estate photography, I specialize in telling stories through my lens, ensuring that every photograph is not just an image but a memory that lasts forever.

How I Got Into Photography

My journey into photography was heavily influenced by my love for storytelling and visual art. I’ve always been drawn to the way a single photograph can evoke emotions, bring back memories, and even tell an entire story without a single word. What started as capturing moments for friends and family soon turned into something more when I realized the impact my work had on people. With encouragement from my wife, who is also a photographer, I decided to turn my passion into a full-time business.

There are several resources I wish I had known about earlier that could have helped streamline my journey. CreativeLive & MasterClass offer great business and photography courses, while The LawTog provides legal templates for photographers. Networking through PPA and photography groups would have helped me connect with industry professionals sooner. Tools like Photo Mechanic for culling, Lightroom presets, and AI-powered editing could have saved hours of work. Lastly, HoneyBook and Showit would have made client management and website optimization much easier from the start.
