Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Pappy G. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Pappy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Consistency and hustle! They both go hand in hand in my opinion. No matter how hard it get (cause it will get hard) you have to remember your purpose and keep pushing. It will be rewarding at the end

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers?
I’m Pappy G , a 28 year old Military veteran , born and raised in Houston , Tx! I’m a Youtuber ( Pappy G) and a Entrepreneur. I have my own signature wine (Pappy Potion) , a Vending Machine and a Car Rental Service on Turo! After my enlistment was up after 6 years in Air Force, I told myself that I didn’t want to work for anybody else but myself. Of course , things didn’t go as planned because I didn’t know what i wanted to do besides YouTube. So I had to get a few small jobs until I finally came across the vending machine business! I took a course to learn the business and save up my money to get my first location! After that , I learned about Turo ! In which you can rent your personal car out to people in need of a vehicle. I got into wine because as I was continuing to grow my presence on social media, I wanted more females to tap in with me and I know the ladies love wine , so it just made sense to come out with my own and the feedback has been nothing but great! And lastly , my YouTube channel. I am a paid YouTuber. Every since I was a kid , I’ve always had the ability to entertain people. Everybody thought I could be on TV. Well in todays time , being a Youtuber is the closest thing to being a tv. On my channel , not only are you being entertained , but I’m also giving out game into all my business ventures. YouTube is probably the hardest thing that I’m doing because you can’t just make any video starting out. You have to bring value to platform and that’s where you begin to build a fan base. It also can be weird at first talking to a camera and coming up with the right videos. But I’ve been at it with YouTube for about a year now and we’re approaching 5,000 subscribers!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I’ve had to pivot a few times recently the last few years. After separating from the military , I’ve had trouble landing a job in my career field ( law enforcement) and I didn’t want to just take any law enforcement job either. After going through that , I turned to entrepreneurship, but shortly after that, I had to pivot again! I bought a box truck in Feb 2020 to start my transportation business and the very next month , the world shut down. So I was stuck with a truck not making any money. So I quickly had to figure out a way to get rid of this truck. So I sold the truck , paid off some bills and took what I had left over and some savings and bought a sprinter van to continue with my transportation business. This is when I started my YouTube channel (Pappy G) also. I drove my van for about a year then realized my passion was vending and YouTube and sold the van.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
For me it’s been being consistent. They say that it takes at least 7 times for people to see your product / services before they’re ready to make a purchase. You are your biggest promoter. No matter how many likes you get or don’t get, you can’t let the people forget about your product / services.
