We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Daniel Clark (Papi Flay) a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Papi Flay, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
My best investment was buying my first ever set of music equipment . What started off as a hobby and a passion ended up opening doors for me on the business side of entertainment.

Papi Flay, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For those who don’t know me my name is Papi Flay . “ Papi “ because Im Panamanian and Flay because Bobby Flay is my favorite chef . I am a producer and artist from Los Angeles , California. Crenshaw district to be exact . I have a heavy 90’s – early 2000’s R&B and Rap influence. My main goal is to show people what its like to do it your way and set your own trend . You don’t have to put yourself in a box.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I would say starting from a blank canvas and creating a masterpiece at the end of the process . You spend hours drawing and erasing . Stepping away from the speakers and returning. Being a creative may be one of the most challenging title’s to hold . A lot comes with it.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I want to be able to create a home for those who are a fan of what I do . Those who can relate . Not an actual physical house but more of a mental thing . A library of art that people can come back and listen to and always have with them . Yeah being paid for what you love to do is wonderful but making an impact on people is what lasts beyond a lifetime .
