We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Paola Coroba. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Paola below.
Paola, appreciate you joining us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
Looking back on my creative career, I sometimes wonder what it would have been like if I had started sooner. But then I realize that everything happens for a reason. My journey as an artist has been shaped by every experience, every challenge, and every opportunity that has come my way. The imperfections and struggles have made me a stronger, more resilient artist, and I wouldn’t trade that for anything. So, while part of me wishes I had discovered my passion for creating earlier in life, I am grateful for the path that has led me to where I am today. And now, as I continue to pursue my passion for realistic portrait art, I am excited for all the new possibilities that lie ahead.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
As a realistic artist, I specialize in drawing pencil portraits of people. I have a natural talent for capturing facial expressions and unique qualities of each subject I portray.
My attention to detail and ability to create lifelike images are what I think, set me apart from others. I am constantly seeking ways to improve my craft and experiment with new techniques to push my skills further. Drawing is my passion and I take great pride in every piece I create!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
As a dedicated realistic artist specializing in portraits, what truly fulfills me is capturing the essence of people and conveying a feeling through my art. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the emotions of my subjects come to life on the page, as I painstakingly sketch every detail. For me, drawing is not just a craft, but a passion that I pour my heart and soul into. Through my portraits, I hope to create a connection between the viewer and the subject, and to inspire emotions that words cannot express.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I used to believe that perfection was the ultimate goal. I would spend countless hours obsessing over every detail, striving for an exact likeness of my subject. But as I continued to hone my craft, I realized that true beauty lies in imperfection. It’s the subtle nuances and unique features that make a person truly captivating. Now, I embrace the imperfections and use them to create a romantic and intimate portrait that captures the essence of my subject. By letting go of the need for perfection, I am able to create art that is not only realistic, but also deeply emotional and heartfelt.
