Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Panic 8577. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Panic thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
14yrs old when got my first opportunity to get into a studio and record the first song was singing I believe I can fly with my mother. She didn’t tell me that’s what we was going to do I remember coming home from school we had been practicing the song for a few days. So I figured that’s the plan this day after school. To prepare for this talent show so when I get home my mom tells me we’re leaving the house at 5pm. I’m like why but ok she didn’t tell me where we were going till we get there and I ask what is this she says I found a studio we can record the song. That session was really cool 😎 and from that day forward I knew this is what I want to do record music. Wasn’t thinking about being famous or any of that stuff till I actually got the opportunity to rap in a studio 1 yr later. That’s when the big hip hop rap dreams kicked off in my mind.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Panic8577 I create music I like to call myself a creative creator. The music I make might not be for everybody to enjoy even tho I have a song or two across each album made for majority of people to enjoy. I create music based off of having to deal with my temper and anger issues as a child after losing my father at a early age. This developed a high sense of rage within that I didn’t know how to release till I started writing music then recording music. I tend to think of myself as being the most authentic version of myself and thoughts when writing and recording music. So something’s I might say will piss people off and turn people on in a non sexual manner. More so in a manner of thinking as I’d hope people who listen to my music know it’s not party music or music you’d typically dance to but more so music you listen to while studying driving reading with the intention on making you think about things in your life and get a better view of how I see things in my mind how I think about things and ultimately how I feel. Unknown Suspect Records is the label. Panic8577 is the science.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When I had to start paying for my own studio time while in highschool after making the decision to go solo from the group I started with due to life situations. And utilizing that opportunity to finish my first album everything paid for by myself. Without having to do anything illicit to get the money. And going through the process of being homeless mismanagement of money. Having no manager basically learning the business of music by myself with help here and there. Going through the consistent cycle of change in the industry from peer to peer exchange to internet figuring out how to do that while still keeping my integrity. Standing on my morals and beliefs. Studying the industry listening to various stories about the industry majority not so positive and fighting through my own personal life battles continuing to create on a consistent basis. Taking myself through artist development meaning studying and being alone for hours on in days months years. Battling my own thoughts about my music hearing people say it’s not good continuing to create them hearing the same people who said it’s not good say it’s good. Making many mistakes and still staying focused working various jobs etc…. It’s a lot.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
We tend to think different so if you say you want this done I’m already processing the how I’ve broken down every word into letters how you say the words how you speak it or write it. And if something catches my attention I might say stop can you repeat that one word again or repeat that again. It’s not that I’m not listening it’s that I’m actually listening to well you don’t even notice your words are songs to me it’s creating something in my head that idk what it could be for an actual song or art or production. Hopefully that helps.
