Pamela Jean, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry
The biggest thing I am seeing are consumers are really starting to pay attention to their ingredients and what they are putting in their bodies and around their children. My business is all natural, no toxin products made in the USA. Consumers are becoming more aware that the FDA does not regulate supplements and you need to be your own advocate to make sure ingredients are clean, not just trust the marketing labels placed on containers, and 3rd party certificates are more important than ever. Don’t grab just anything because it’s conveniently on the shelf where you are already shopping. Not all supplements or even household items are created equal and you can find clean, all natural products that work just as well if you take the time to find them.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started my business when the world shut down. I was a new mom and was very concerned about everything that was going to be around my son from cleaners to even what I was putting in my body since I was breastfeeding. I fell in love with the products and knew it was something I was passionate about. I love educating on the differences in these industries and even if someone doesn’t purchase any health and wellness business from me at least they have the knowledge in the future for what to look for. It brings me great joy to hear my customers success stories and health journey updates! It’s so fulfilling. I also help other women start their franchise and mentor them as well. Which is an incredible feeling to help so many people reach levels of success.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Never give up! It sounds so cliche but I came to a point that I was frustrated with the growth in my business. It seemed stagnant and I was feeling defeated the work I was putting in wasn’t leading to more growth. I severely wanted to give up and almost did. Not even 6 months later my business was doing 7x what it was doing when I wanted to give up. The best line I’ve ever seen is- success is rented not owned, and the rent is due every month.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience through all the different avenues my career had pivoted through. But I think the main thing is I share enough authentically but I do not share everything which I think is so important. I think the big thing right now if you want to grow is to feed into the algorithm. Right now 5 to 6 stories a day and carousel posts are being favored. But never push anything that’s not authentically you even if it pays. My biggest regret looking back was I used to take every deal that came my way because I wanted the money and now I’m pickier but I love the content I make so much more because its all items I really use and I think that shows.
