Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Pamela J. Campbell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Pamela J. , thanks for joining us today. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you as a business owner?
My sixteen years working in corporate america taught me many different teachings. One important lesson I learned is everyone has a story and different experiences which is where their perspective on life stems from. Not everyone is going to agree on certain ideas, beliefs or how to love this gift called life and that’s okay. Everyone is on their journey and doing the best they can with the tools and information they have in each moment. This lesson has allowed me to not only forgive people I felt have wronged me but also have grace and compassion for people when they are not showing up as their best self in any given moment.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Self development is my JAM which is why I refer to myself as a spiritual catalyst for transformation. My childhood experiences positioned me to do the work that inspires me to serve as a coach, speaker and spiritual teacher. From being abused from the age of six to sixteen, attempting suicide at age thirteen, my father attempting to take my life at age sixteen which led me to abscond from my home environment and run into the NY foster care system which all prepared me for the work I do now.
These experiences led me to live in a state of victim consciousness for fourteen years of my life. I never took responsibility for my actions which caused me to live a life full of entitlement and drama. Operating from old, limited beliefs and lack of knowledge resulted in me living in an unconscious state and allowing others to dictate my outcomes.
My vision is for women to have the strategy and tools necessary to connect to a higher power using spirituality, build confidence from within and create a vision for their lives that sets their soul on FIRE!
Within spirituality women will be able to be guided by a higher Source (whoever they identify with) to create a life of joy, and purpose, instead of seeking guidance outside of themselves and the norms of society which results in lack of purpose, inauthenticity and dissatisfaction no matter what they’ve endured in life.
I’m proud of the fact that I chose to use my painful life experiences and turn it into possibility. I pride myself on my commitment to my growth work and continuing my journey of healing as I serve my clients. Their successes and the joy they walk away with after our work together is evidence of my commitment to show up as my best self while being in service to them. I’m grateful to be able to serve women in this capacity while growing my business and expanding myself.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Through this journey of entrepreneurship I had to unlearn many things. For instance the saying” It’s not what you know it’s who you know.” I beg to differ, this journey has taught me the importance of knowing God. Through this relationship anything and everything is possible. Society teaches us to seek what we need outside of ourselves. And that is something I needed to unlearn. It took a few years to realize I have everything I need to create the life and business I want. It took time to learn how to tap into my power as a creator and the release limiting beliefs on how to build a successful business. Success looks different for everyone and I had to figure out what it looked like for me and be unapologetic about going after it. It is my belief we are all fully equipped to create the life we want if we are willing to show up and do the work required to make our dreams comes true.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
A Course in Miracles has been one of the most influential teachings on my spiritual journey. I use the teachings to share with clients and build my business. These teachings include topics like forgiveness, being present , relationships and releasing the past. These teachings are so powerful and can be applied to different areas of life with the reminder we are the creators of our life. I’m grateful for these teachings and how it has supported me in creating a life of peace, grace and ease in my business and personal life.
