We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Pamela Huff. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Pamela below.
Pamela , appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I’m a LPN(Licensed Practical Nurse). I’ve been a nurse for 9 years but in the medical field for 13 years. I started this journey off as a CNA(Certified Nursing Assistant). I love what i do it’s my calling. Being that i love what I do so much it encouraged me to also become an entrepreneur and start a scrub business that has been up and running for 3 years. I would always get compliments at work about how well I put my scrub coordinations together so I said to myself why not start a business in this lol? And I did just that. Some days being a nurse could be draining but my motto would be “If you look good, you’ll feel better.” Getting compliments from my patients showed me how therapeutic stylish scrubs can be to them as well!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Scrubs can be quite pricey. I give my customers great quality scrubs for a great price. I have many returning customers due to the quality, pricing and overall customer service. My unique style of scrub sets as well as the gifts I provide with each order shows much gratitude. I take pride in helping healthcare workers look there best in the field without over paying for medical fashion.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
When you really want something you definitely have to put forth the effort and put fear behind. I started funding my business with my own money from working as a nurse. I would also set up as a vendor at local pop up events to help draw more attention and customers to my business. These events also helped fund my business. Now I have been able to establish business credit which helps as well.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Consistency is key! There’s days where I felt defeated due to not getting the traffic to my social media that I wanted but I never stopped creating content. I’m very ambitious and determined so I create content daily even if it’s small I just remain consistent. Being consistent has help my social media grow. I’m grateful for that.
