We recently connected with Pamela Dylag and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Pamela , thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I never resonated with the traditional 9-5 work theory, although I definitely tried to fit into it through the beginning of my twenties when I worked full time for the first time as an adult. I knew I desired freedom & creativity, I was always creative as a child but was constantly pushed to find something “stable” and “traditional”. My sister and I had an idea to open a craft cocktail bar in the downtown Las Vegas Arts District when I was in my mid-twenties. I loved this idea because we wanted it to be a creative space to connect people together and also host an array of artistic events. I was able to imbue my love of design, experience creation & cocktail menu innovation to build a beautiful space. I recently left this business after pouring 13 years into it to explore other passions of mine. I have always been into the mystic arts, since I was a child. I’ve studied astrology and tarot for twenty years and wanted to embark on a new creative project with these as a focus. I’m launching my new pop up ceremonial luxury tent business called Venus Rose Coven. I also felt called to try some new mediums with creative direction and from here started a couple of podcasts, one with my good friend Abbie called Desert Dating Diaries where we dive into our dating experience living in Las Vegas. And I launched an astrology & mystic focused podcast under Venus Rose Coven as well.

Pamela , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My earliest memories are connected to the spirit realm, nature, dancing, playing dress up & very feminine energies. It’s what I thrive in and my truest authentic self. I purchased my first tarot deck at 19 (it’s the one I still use the most) and would always research astrology and get my own readings. I knew it was a calling for me. I purchased so many books, watched YouTube videos and eventually started taking classes in tarot & astrology. It felt so natural for me. I then moved to reading for other people about 10 years ago. When I started connecting with people to read their energy, it felt like I was channeling for them. It was incredible & magical. Guiding people to see their lives in an empowering way is my life mission, it gives me immense joy and expansion. I also love creating unique & intimate experiences for people – which was much of my life in the last 13 years of building and owning a cocktail bar. So, when I left my business this year I wanted to focus on these elements of my core that I truly value. The idea for Venus Rose Coven came to me quickly. Venus, the high feminine planet, is my guiding planet in astrology (I’m a Taurus Sun) and rose is the highest frequency flower & my favorite. Coven is a gathering, a collective which comes together for the same purpose. With Venus Rose Coven, I am creating a pop up ceremonial tent experience which unites all of these elements together. Community is so imperative. As well as cultivating our own unique individual selves. We are entering a pivotal time in the collective to be true to ourselves, which will in turn elevate the collective. It’s the vibe of Pluto in Aquarius, which just transited this year and will be in this aspect for the next 19 years. This astrological aspect is changing everything, disrupting everything we know to be true to allow new ways of doing things on the planet. It’s very exciting! Venus Rose Coven is an experience to help shift our energies to a higher plane of operating.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Connection is absolutely the most rewarding aspect of being a creative for me. When I expand others through my work, give them space and opportunity to tap into their highest frequency – this is everything. I feel that my purpose is to connect & elevate others through my work.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A big lesson I had to unlearn was working harder would yield higher reward. I believe when we’re tapped into our high frequency and are aligned to our purpose, life flows much more abundantly and opportunities present themselves. Especially living in the United States, we overwork ourselves. Being productive just for the sake of that will create burn out, stress and exhaustion. When you align to your magic essence, you see that unfold in your life.
