We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Pamela DeWitte a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Pamela, appreciate you joining us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.

For the last 2 1/2 years IV Lounge inc has had the privilege of helping so many on their journey to better health and wellness. We constantly strive to find new ways to improve our standard of care, setting the highest standard in the industry. One way we have done so is by having a Nurse Practitioner on staff. We also have medical grade refrigerators for storing all supplements with frequent monitoring. We are also staffed by only registered nurses with exceptional IV insertion skills. Lastly, we are overseen by board certified physician Shivagee Nallamothu.

Pamela, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My name is Pamela DeWitte. I graduated with my associates degree in nursing in 2012. I went into the nursing field because I have always enjoyed helping people and making them feel better. People that typically would see me at the hospital were not in a good place, and I always wanted to do anything I could to make what they were going through just a little bit better even if it was just from a friendly smile or caring touch. I thoroughly enjoyed my job at the hospital, but during that time I began to notice that all my patients were not able to get all of their needs met. For example, hospice patients could not even get a simple IV hydration which would make them feel more comfortable, but this was considered a “treatment” which they were not allowed to have while in hospice care. It was during this time that the idea for a business, where people could have some control over their own health care was sparked. I decided to research if this was even possible, and I found that not only could we give people hydration, but that we could also give them supplements to support their bodies. IV Lounge inc finally opened in March of 2020. It was a dream come true. We strive to give our clients individualized quality care. We are proud of the standard that we have set high for the industry. Each client is treated as family.

Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?

About a year after I opened, I started to see a common theme of clientele coming into the IV Lounge. Many of my clients were suffering with chronic pain. My medical director is an orthopedic surgeon, and his wife had mentioned that he had been using laser therapy to help some of his patients control their pain. She was very confident in how effective the laser was working. I reached out to Dr. Nallamothu, and he agreed that the pain laser would be a great addition to our service line. Buying the laser was a huge risk. It was very expensive, and clients would have to pay for this service out of pocket since laser therapy is not approved by insurance. In March of 2022 we had our pain laser open house for clients to come in and try out the laser. IV Lounge inc was filled almost to capacity that day with people wanting to try the laser! Since then, we have helped so many people reduce or completely eliminate their pain.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?

One thing I am very proud of at the IV Lounge is we have a very low turnover rate for employees despite paying our nurse lower than hospital wages. I strive to make sure that every employee feels appreciated every day. One way we do this is by simply saying thank you after every shift. Second, I give my employees frequent bonuses. I could not do what I do without them, and this is one way I show them that. I also give them thank you notes with small gifts periodically when someone goes above and beyond what they have to do. I have had all my employees tell me I am a “great boss.” The feeling is mutual, I have a “wonderful group” of employees!
