We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Pamela Benavides. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Pamela below.
Pamela, appreciate you joining us today. Do you manage your own social media?
I do everything in my business myself, including managing my own social media. Not only does it help me be cost effective, but it helps keep the feel of my business authentically me. It’s one way I am able to interact with customers I would not be able to meet in person, as well as be a creative outlet in my business! One thing I’ve learned by doing my own social media, is it definitely is a learning curve. Social media is such an amazing tool, but can be extremely tricky to figure out when using for a business. The biggest lesson I can give is to use the internet, there’s so much free information available, you just have to search for it! Youtube has step-by-step tutorials and so much marketing information!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Pamela Benavides and I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I have always had a love for clothing, bags, shoes, and accessories, and have always wanted to start my own business. I decided to start my business in 2022, because “if not now, when?”. I appreciate finding pieces for my clients that have the same vibe and energy as expensive brands, without having the expensive price tag! I also really like that I am able to essentially curate a “closet” of brands that I love and support as well. I try to keep my selection as versatile as possible for age, style, and occasion. I market my brand as a “lifestyle boutique”, meaning that I not only want to sell clothing/accessories (and maybe home items one day), but I try to give little insights into everyday things, whether it’s a workout class, fun restaurant, or community event.
I am most proud of the fact that I have done almost everything on my own. I run my own social media, I do my own marketing, I pick and purchase everything, and I model everything! My business/brand fully is a representation of me and things I love. I do appreciate all of the help I have had along the way from friends, family, my husband, and all the other small businesses I have met so far.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Brand loyalty is such an important thing. I’ve always read that majority of your business will come from repeat buyers/clients, so it is so important to create great, lasting relationships with as many people as you can. The best way to keep in contact with clients is through social media and staying as active as possible. I keep all of my social media updated with new inventory, and my market schedule. It’s also a great way to interact and have conversations with your clients without using your personal number.
I love doing pop-up markets because you can have face to face conversations with clients, and really build great relationships in person!

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Before I starting running my business I was bartending full time. I was able to save enough money to get my business license and my first few pieces of clothing. Bartending helped me be able to start my business slow on the side, without having to rely on the money from my business.
