Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Pam Perry. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Pam, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Absolutely, I’m delighted to share my journey into founding Ministry Marketing Solutions, Inc., which later evolved into what you know today as PamPerryPR.
It all began in the late 90s when the digital dawn was just breaking. I was working as a PR director and felt a compelling need for more freedom and flexibility to truly make an impact. My passion was always centered around helping others shine, particularly authors and speakers who had important messages but struggled to reach their audience.
One evening, I sat in my home office surrounded by piles of manuscripts and media contacts, reflecting on the many talented individuals who came to me, frustrated by the traditional routes of gaining exposure. They had stories that could change lives, insights that could shift paradigms, but no clear path to the spotlight. That’s when it clicked: I could be the bridge connecting these voices with the world.
I envisioned a boutique agency tailored to the unique needs of authors, speakers, and non-profits, particularly those in the Christian market—a niche I felt was underserved yet ripe with potential. My heart was set ablaze thinking about the possibility of combining my expertise in PR with my deep-rooted values in faith. It wasn’t just about marketing; it was ministry, a calling to elevate missions with messages that mattered.
The emotional drive was there, fueled by countless conversations with potential clients who expressed their frustrations and hopes. They needed someone who didn’t just understand PR tactics but who also resonated with their purpose and passion. This was my unique angle—my approach was not just professional; it was personal. I was offering a service where empathy met strategy, where each campaign was a crusade.
Launching Ministry Marketing Solutions, Inc., felt like a natural step but not without its risks. Transitioning from a stable job to venturing into the unknown was daunting, yet every fiber of my being told me it was worth it. The early days were a blend of excitement and uncertainty, late nights learning the ropes of digital marketing, which was still in its infancy, and building relationships that would stand the test of time.
The decision was rooted in both emotion and logic. I saw a clear gap in the market for faith-based marketing services that offered more than just publicity but a platform for voices that could inspire and ignite. As digital media began to take over, the opportunity to innovate within this space was enormous. Every success story from my clients reinforced that this wasn’t just a viable business; it was a vital one.
Today, as PamPerryPR, the mission has broadened but the essence remains. Whether it’s helping a speaker get their TEDx talk or supporting a new author in launching their debut book, the core of my work is about empowering others to get out there and get known, leveraging every tool in the digital age to elevate their brand.
Starting and nurturing this business has been one of the most exhilarating parts of my professional journey, filled with both challenges and triumphs. But every step has been a testament to the power of aligning one’s work with one’s passions, and I am as committed as ever to helping each client shine their brightest light.
Pam, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am deeply passionate about empowering experts and entrepreneurs make their mark through powerful branding and strategic communication. My journey into the world of public relations and marketing began over two decades ago, fueled by a desire to amplify voices that make a difference. As a seasoned professional with extensive experience in journalism, public relations, and marketing, I’ve always been drawn to the transformative power of media and storytelling.
I founded Ministry Marketing Solutions, Inc., now known as PamPerryPR, to bridge the gap between talented individuals and their audiences. Our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of authors, speakers, and leaders, particularly those in the Christian market initially, but have since expanded to include a diverse range of clients.
Speakers Magazine is one of our most dynamic projects. As the publisher, I take pride in this platform that celebrates and supports African American speakers. Each issue is packed with insights, success stories, and strategies to help speakers get seen, booked, and paid. The magazine not only highlights influential figures but also serves as a critical resource for event planners looking to hire top talent.
My first foray into the podcasting world was with “Chocolate Pages,” where I interviewed authors and leaders to discuss their books and share their wisdom with a broader audience. This experience not only enriched my skills but also expanded my network significantly, paving the way for many of the initiatives I lead today.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of the most pivotal moments in my career came when I recognized the need to adapt to the rapidly evolving landscape of digital media. As the world of PR and marketing shifted more towards online platforms and social media became increasingly crowded, it became clear that the traditional methods of gaining visibility for my clients needed a refresh. This realization led to the creation of Quick Media Coverage and the television series, Expert Insight.
Quick Media Coverage was born out of a need to provide guaranteed media placements in a world where social media noise can drown out even the most compelling stories. I saw many talented individuals struggling to gain traction in their visibility efforts because the digital space was so saturated. They had great stories that deserved to be heard, but were often overshadowed by the sheer volume of content online. Quick Media Coverage is designed to cut through that noise, ensuring that clients’ stories get the spotlight they deserve in reputable media outlets. This service not only enhances SEO but significantly boosts credibility and authority, helping clients to stand out in their respective fields.
Similarly, the development of Expert Insight was a strategic pivot to leverage multimedia storytelling in a way that could reach a broader audience. Realizing that people consume content in various forms, I envisioned a television series that would allow experts across different industries to share their knowledge and insights. This platform not only helps in building their personal brands but also engages an audience that is eager for authentic, behind-the-scenes perspectives. The show is structured to provide in-depth interviews, behind the scene photoso and video plus valuable takeaways, making it a rich resource for both the featured experts and the viewers.
These initiatives represent significant pivots in my business strategy, shifting from solely traditional PR tactics to incorporating guaranteed media placements and multimedia exposure. Each move was driven by a keen understanding of market needs and the desire to provide unmatched value to my clients. By embracing these changes, I was able to offer innovative solutions that address the challenges of modern-day visibility and branding.
Through Quick Media Coverage and Expert Insight, I have helped clients navigate the complexities of the digital age, ensuring their voices are heard above the din, and establishing them as thought leaders in their domains. These pivots were not just about keeping up with industry trends but were strategic, forward-thinking decisions that have set both my clients and my business up for continued success.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Building a solid reputation within my market over the past 25 years has been deeply intertwined with my faith and my commitment to the principles it teaches. As a Christian, I have always been guided by the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” This foundational belief has shaped not only my personal interactions but also my professional ethos.
My approach to business is deeply rooted in integrity, transparency, and a genuine care for the success and well-being of my clients. I believe in treating each client with the utmost respect and dedication, mirroring the care I would expect for myself. This philosophy has been central to how I operate Ministry Marketing Solutions and PamPerryPR. By consistently putting my clients’ needs first and striving to exceed their expectations, I’ve cultivated long-lasting relationships that are based on trust and mutual respect.
My Christian beliefs have instilled in me a service-oriented mindset. I see my work not just as a business but as a ministry, a calling to help others achieve their God-given potential. This perspective drives me to over-deliver, ensuring that every strategy and campaign not only meets the set goals but also provides additional value that can propel my clients even further.
This commitment to excellence and ethical service has helped me build a reputation as a reliable, effective, and compassionate industry leader. Clients know that when they work with me, they are not just getting a service provider—they are partnering with someone who genuinely cares about their success and is committed to helping them shine. It’s this reputation that has enabled me to thrive in the industry without any complaints, a testament to the consistent quality and care delivered through my work.
As I reflect on the past 25 years, I am most proud of the positive impact that my faith-driven approach has had on my clients and the broader community. It’s a reminder that when you align your work with your values and commit to serving others wholeheartedly, success follows not just in business, but in building meaningful, impactful relationships.
