We were lucky to catch up with Pam Ferrara recently and have shared our conversation below.
Pam, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
Our signature and original class at GVST Wellness is called a Tribe Meeting. It consists on yoga, meditation and a sharing circle. It women only and such a beautiful safe space to relax and connect with other women! When women get together and open up during the sharing circle we relate in such a deeper and more vulnerable level. It’s such a wonderful thing to witness!
During one Tribe Meeting, a woman who is a GVST regular shared that she was having car trouble and was really worried about what she would do when her car dies – how will she get to work or get around?
After the meeting, another woman who attends classes regularly walks up to the first woman and hands her car keys and an insurance paper and says, “I have a spare car. Please use it until you figure it out.”
We were all so touched! What a wonderful gift to give another human being – help. It was such a beautiful moment and just another testament to how important community is.

Pam, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
GVST Wellness is a wellness community that focuses on whole body (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual) health.
Owner, Pam Ferrara started GVST in April 2021 with no business experience. As a stay at home mom during the pandemic, she saw such a need for health and wellness and most importantly, community and connection.
Located in St Clair Shores, Michigan – GVST Wellness boasts a wide variety of classes. From Zumba to yoga and even step aerobics and then personal growth, business and even psychic and Tarot class as well! GVST also has service one on one service providers such as massage therapists, Reiki practitioners, grief workers and they just hired a social worker!

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
If I could go back, I would have started my training in the holistic and wellness fields much earlier. There are so many things I want to learn and do – and just not enough time!

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
GVST Wellness had its first permanent location inside another business. We rented a huge 900 sqft room and I was thrilled and thankful for how business and life were going.
Unfortunately that business implemented some changes that didn’t work with GVST and I thought I would be at this location for years to come, I found myself having to pivot and move out.
I quickly found a new and bigger location, really close by and now GVST Wellness has a whole suite where we can actually have 4 things running at once as opposed to just one from before. It all worked out very serendipitously!
