We recently connected with Paloma Machiavelli and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Paloma, thanks for joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Honestly I’ve taken lots of big risks. The one of a few risks I’ve taken that came to mind is the one when I ran away from my foster home to find my mom in Tijuana. I actually found her within eight hours of searching for her that same day I ran away. I was gone for over a month and I was also reported missing here in the US. The reasons I ran away to find my mom is because I really wanted to see her and I had told social workers and the judge that I was going to run away and find her. I got tired of waiting and looking forward to specific days and time to see her. When the day finally came there was no action from social works or anything to let me know I wasn’t going to see my mother. So I took matters into my on hands and gather information for 3-4 years. All I needed was a ticket to take the roadrunner bus to the San Ysidro border. Since I was under the age of 18 I needed an adult to buy my ticket and I met someone who agreed to help me and got my ticket. And what happened in Tijuana after finding my mom, we’ll that’s a story for another time. However I did want to let y’all know that I did what I said I was going to do and everyone laughed at me. Nobody took me seriously or believed I was going to do it. The only person who believed in me and knew I what I was doing is myself.

Paloma, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve always been into the world of arts. Whether that’s modeling, drawing, painting, building, I love it all. Also I had quite my 9-5 job to build an online income and help people do the same. I believe since I can relate to so much and I’m easy to talk to as well that that definitely sets me apart from people… even though I don’t look as approachable as I would want it to be, which it’s cool I guess.
What I’m most proud of is my consistency on training and growing my mind. Expending my limitations.
I would like people to know that there is a less stressful way to making online income which will help you do more of what you want when you want. When I model, it’s honestly just me getting out of my comfort zone and I become a different part of me and I get to shine that part of me which is super fun and the people I’ve worked with have been phenomenal overall. And from my art work, I would like people to know that every art work I’ve done was made out of emotions, passion from those emotions, and strengths include, and I believe it’s just something I’ve done to cope with my feelings , it was either that or going on runs which I love doing. Just not the smell of my sweat it’s very disgusting haha. But I love breaking a sweat like shit I really outdone myself and that, that is an amazing feeling!
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Yes definitely!! There’s lots of books and videos. The one book I really love is The 48 laws of power. I really recommend it. Another book is Exactly What To Say The Magic Words For Influence and Impact. I’ll listen to the audio over and over again, I can never get tired of those books. From all the books I read and learn from books and audios, is that I would reflect on myself and conversations I’ve had and how I can change myself, what I say or don’t say.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Of course! That’s for me to know and for everyone else to find out when the time comes. I will leave this I follow, it goes like this “Where I stand comes from where I’ve been.. and where I’m going starts with where I stand.” This is what came across my mind as a young teen when I was going through my relatives abandoning me and my grandma’s passing and just thinking about what I really wanted in life and how I’m going to get that.
