We recently connected with Paloma Herrera and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Paloma, thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Putting your drive and commitment towards what you are passionate about, is what I believe it takes to be successful. All your time and energy that you spend into starting something that is going to be the next big thing for yourself, that is being successful on its own.

Paloma, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello! My name is Paloma, I am a creative individual who also works in the hospitality business, I manage two companies as well as working on my own creative venture in photography. I enjoy helping people out and I am happy to be in a position where I am able to do so on a daily basis.
I started off as a driver for a few years until I decided it was time for me to move on to the next thing. A friend mentioned that they worked for a housekeeping company and I decided to reach out to the owner, Natalie Blanco, for a position at her company, Magic Helpers. Magic Helpers is a housekeeping company that specializes in Airbnb’s, I first began working with them as a housekeeper. Within a few months I was appointed the Quality Check Inspector position, a few more months in I was promoted to Assistant Manager, and shortly after I officially became the General Manager of Magic Helpers. I also am a Manager at Hostly, a property management company for Airbnb’s as well.
With Airbnb being a fast growing hospitality business that includes many challenges on a daily basis, our team strives their hardest on finding solutions for all those challenges, no matter how small. I, as well as our clients, am very content with how quick our team is with communication, even if we can sometimes be a little too communicative, ha ha. That is one thing I can say that really makes both companies different than the rest, as well as our top services that we provide.
As mentioned earlier, I’m also working on my own creative venture in photography. This is going to sound very cliche (ha ha), but ever since I was a little girl, I really admired photography and the way that the camera works and it’s process. Growing up I always saw these really cool photos of the moon, the stars, and photoshopped photos (back then I didn’t know it was photoshop), that I always was awe struck with them and just amazed at some of those photos that I would come across. It is a bit difficult to explain what my niche in photography really is, as I don’t typically stick to one aspect of it, but I hope to one day get to that position where I am able to create those type of photos that got me interested in photography.
I am very proud of my work ethic as I learned it from my parents and siblings. That is how I really got to the position that I am now and I could never imagine where I would be if it wasn’t for them and their support. I appreciate them more than I can put together in words, and I am ever so grateful to have learned many things from them. They really are my rock.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
It is quite difficult to share just one story ha ha, I’ve always worked in fast paced jobs and in fast paced jobs you’re always faced with a problem. And when you’re faced with those problems, sitting down to just think about it for a moment and try many ways to figure it out is never really an option. When it comes to fast paced jobs you have to quickly look at the problem or situation and quickly find the solution to get everything running smoothly again. Yes, there are times where at the end of the day you sit down and think about things that happened earlier and you have those moments where you think “I could have dealt with that problem in a different way” or “this could have been a better solution” but at that moment in time, the solution you went with was the best one.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is not only fulfilling my own personal goal, but getting to share my work with others, especially my family. To me, getting to share my work with my family is the most rewarding in itself, because their support and feedback that they show and provide me with will always be the most important to me. As I mentioned earlier, they are my rock.
