Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Paige Tailyn. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Paige, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about the best boss, mentor, or leader you’ve ever worked with.
Imani Ellis!
Imani had just finished a speaking engagement at The Gathering Spot. I made it home and It slipped my mind to put my phone on the charger before heading to bed.
My phone died overnight which in-advertently meant my alarm would not wake me up at 8:00 am ( and one thing about it, Imma sleep). 11:00 am rolled around and I woke up in a frenzy and immediately called Imani.
Paige: “OMG! Imani, I am so sorry! My phone died overnight and my alarm didn’t wake me up!”
Imani: “Paige! I went into mom mode! I was so worried about you. You know Atlanta can be a little crazy. I was calling everyone to see who had seen you last. Take your time getting yourself together and hop online when you’re ready.”
This confirmed to me that not only did I have an amazing leader, but a boss that cared about my well-being beyond work. Imani has effortlessly shown me the importance of crafting an environment where the people around you feel heard and seen.
She has been my biggest cheerleader through both my personal and professional development and I could not be more grateful.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Paige Tailyn and I am a Plant Enthusiast!
During my Freshman year of college, I set out to find my purpose while being at service for others. I made the decision to run for Clark Atlanta University’s Miss Sophomore 2017-2018. My self-discovery led me to the creation of my platform, Blossom Effect. By definition, Blossom is to mature or develop in a promising or healthy way. Inspired by my grandmother, Pamela Morgan, who passed from Breast Cancer in 2016, my goal for running was to empower students to seek self-discovery through their college journey. The goal is to assist others in planting seeds for personal blossoming. Through my platform, I helped others find their purpose while finding my own.
Through cultivating my houseplants, I have found a way to share ideas and positivity amongst folks that have a green thumb and those who do not.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The goal is to assist others in planting seeds for personal blossoming. Through my platform, I helped others find their purpose while finding my own. I’ve found that through caring for my plants that there is a parallel between humanity and nature. While cultivating my houseplants, I have found a way to share ideas and positivity amongst folks that have a green thumb and those who do not.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I have always been true to myself. I talk to myself through social media almost as if it’s my diary (without the dramatics about how one of my plants died). If you want to build an authentic following, you must keep in mind who YOU are.
If you practice showing up as your fullest self everywhere you go, then the audience will follow. Always keep in mind who you are doing it for and in most cases, it’s yourself.
