We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Paige Maurer . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Paige below.
Paige, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
Health/Wellness in the home: People are very interested in creating “spa-like” experiences at home with steam showers, saunas, aromatherapy, etc. I also am seeing consumers more interested in health conscience products (low VOC paint, no formaldehyde products, green products etc)
Warm Tones: Cool grays had their moment but I have always loved the warm tones, especially in Northern Michigan (cool tones feel even more cool in the winter months). Love the use of wood tones, warm whites, golds)
Luxury appliances: I have seen a major swing in the type of appliances people are purchasing for their homes. I think people are starting to understand the importance of good quality appliances and how they really are the “work horse” of the kitchen. There are also a variety of appliances that make cooking faster, easier and simplified(steam ovens, speed cook ovens, etc.) which is very appealing to parents with children still in school and young professionals who are very busy.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Since a young age I have loved the feeling of “being home”. My goal is always to help people create a space they love and feel comfortable in. Everyone has a different definition of what that may feel like but that feeling is always the same.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Covid followed by having a baby was definitely a few year process of pivoting. Starting off with covid and moving my business to virtual consultations was extremely hard for someone who runs a very tactile and personal business. After things re-opened it was a new game trying to coordinate and schedule projects with everything so up in the air with the supply chain. In June 2021, I had my son which was when things with covid were at their peak in terms of supply chain issues and availability of contractors. 2021 -2023 has just been a back log of projects waiting to get started and completed. I have had to change the way things are scheduled as there is now a huge overlap of projects which I never had before.
