We were lucky to catch up with Paige Lane recently and have shared our conversation below.
Paige, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
We own a three acre farmstead in Ridgeville, SC. When coming up with a name for our farm business, I wanted to pick something that explained who we are and what we do, while staying true to the size of our homestead. I cycled through several options before settling on “Lane Tiny Farm.”
Lane being our family name, and “Tiny Farm” representing that we are a small family owned business.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
My name is Paige Lane, and I am twenty-seven years old. Myself, and my husband, Tommy, own Lane Tiny Farm. We are relatively new to the hobby farm world as we’ve owned the farm since June of 2021. We opened to the public since April of 2022. Our farmstead has five dogs, six silly mini goats, a Texas Longhorn cow, a Holstein calf, a gander, seven chickens, lots of cute quail, and a barn cat!
Our visits provide animal therapy to every guest as our animals are tender-hearted and love human interaction!
We offer Farm Visits (1 hour, one-on-one private tour of our farm), Goat Socials (1 hour ticketed event, charcuterie boxes, BYOB), Goat Grams (30 minute visit, we bring goats to you)!
As hosting guests brings us so much joy, we also run a Farmstay Airbnb with a farm fresh breakfast included! The best part is unlimited access to our goats! Additionally, we are Harvest Hosts catering to RV travelers. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide true Southern Hospitality!
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Most of our farm guests find us on social media like our Facebook & Instagram pages (@lanetinyfarm). We have been blessed with wonderful visitors that post about their enjoyable experiences with us on their social media pages, write lovely reviews, and tell their friends about us! Word-of-mouth is what has taken the farm from small side hustle and entertainment to a blossoming career in agri-tourism that I am passionate about!

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I’m not sure if it’s a lesson so much as it’s a regrettable trait that I had displayed for several years. Before owning our farm, I would definitely have described myself as a lazy person. Although I still love days when I get to stay in and binge watch my favorite television shows, I am exponentially more hard-working now than I was just a couple of years ago.
Owning the farm has changed who I am and pushed me to be the best version of myself. I have grown to love being outdoors. I get up early, live to maintain the health of my herd, gain satisfaction from building new structures, and relish in raising new life. Being a farmer is certainly not for the faint of heart, and I have still only experienced such a small component of it, but I had to unlearn laziness and strive to be dedicated and hardworking for both myself, and my farm animals whom depend on me.
