We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Paige King Johnson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Paige King below.
Paige King, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
The best investment I ever made (which really my parents made for me) was getting a college degree from Belmont University in Music Business. It taught me so much about the ins & outs of the music industry and afforded me multiple opportunities to help get y foot in the door of different companies within Nashville.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a country singer-songwriter who grew up in Angier, NC and moved to Nashville, TN after high school. I have been performing for over 17 years now and have loved every minute of it. I play about 170+ shows a year, mostly around Southeast US. Over the years, I have worked alongside some of my heroes in music (like Pam Tillis!) and have had the chance to share the stage with some as well like Kane Brown, Oliver Anthony, Randy Houser, Joe Nichols, Gabby Barrett, Clint Black, Diamond Rio, Scotty McCreery, Tracy Byrd, Kylie Morgan, Lonestar, Neal McCoy and more.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn the idea that what everyone thinks about you is what matters most. Obviously, we want everyone to be decent people & contribute their best to the world around them, but especially in the music industry, there are so many differing opinions out there about you, your craft, the way you execute it, and so much more. In art, and especially in songwriting & artistry, you have to stay true to yourself, your story and your brand. It’s what will define you for the rest of your life. Everyone will have their opinions, but as long as you are proud of the name you are making for yourself, no one else’s opinions should matter.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
My job puts me in front of a lot of different people each night. I love getting to meet new people & hear their stories & see how they connect with my songs. The fact that I get to see that end result night in & night out is such a blessing to me. I love getting to travel & meet these people who have been supporting me for many years.
