We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Paige Darden a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Paige, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Although I do believe modeling can come naturally to some. I do also believe it is a craft you have to continually learn. In which for me, the best teacher was experience! After each shoot I definitely improved, bringing me to the point I am at today. It’s almost effortless now.
In hindsight I would have definitely studied models I look up to the way I do now.
I believe the most essential thing I learned through experience is embracing what works for me, but also not being afraid to step out of my comfort zone & try new things. Looking back I wouldn’t have put myself in a box so early on!
I believe that was an obstacle that I am finally overcoming & reaping the benefits of!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Paige Darden, I am coming up on 25 years of age. I am born & raised in Houston, Texas & have been modeling for roughly 8 years. When I was 18 I moved to LA to pursue modeling, I made several connections & almost instantly realized that this was my passion. Even more so now because I haven’t given up, I’ve stayed the course. Over the years I have worked with so many brands & people, I am so grateful for all of the opportunities that I have been apart of. From cosmetic campaigns to fitness campaigns I am always eager to show up because I truly love what I do! I believe thats why Ive made so many long lasting connections, people can tell I am always excited for the job which I’m sure is appreciated as well.
Something I am most proud of is the business relationship I have with playboy! I get DMs all the time but receiving one from them made my jaw drop. Not only that but them posting and featuring me felt unreal! That alone has opened many doors & new relationships with other brands. It’s pretty cool because I don’t have a million followers but I still get to work with some pretty nice brands!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Moving back home after taking the risk of moving to LA was pretty tough! It felt almost as if I failed, when in reality I just needed to approach things more strategically instead of just going for it! While that approach did work for a little bit, it was nice to come back home & not only regroup but learn more about myself & what I really want out of modeling.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The future! The future keeps me optimistic, it’s honestly that simple for me. I’m a big dreamer, the sky is just the view, NOT the limit!
