We recently connected with Paige Corwin and have shared our conversation below.

Paige, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?

I find immense fulfillment and happiness in pursuing my passion as a recording artist. While it’s true that being an artist comes with its challenges, including the financial strain of living in an expensive city like New York, I believe in the value of chasing my dreams. Bartending serves as a temporary means to support myself while I navigate the unpredictable journey of the music industry.

The thought of having a regular job has crossed my mind, especially considering the financial realities of living in a city like NYC. However, the joy and satisfaction I derive from creating music outweigh the difficulties. I am fully aware of the uncertainties that come with being an artist, but the idea of settling for a regular job doesn’t resonate with me at this point in my life. I want to dedicate my time and energy to something that truly brings me happiness and fulfillment: music.

Paige, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am originally from Rhode Island but made the move to NYC in 2011 to pursue studies in corporate communications and sociology. However, upon earning my degree, I realized that my true passion lay elsewhere – in music.

My journey into the music industry began with a decision to follow my dream of becoming a singer. I launched a YouTube channel, where I shared covers and started delving into the creation of original music, particularly during the challenging times of the Covid pandemic. In 2020, I took the leap and began releasing originals, and the experience brought immense happiness to my life.

What I provide to my audience is a collection of songs that I hope resonate deeply with listeners. My music is a reflection of my emotions, experiences, and the stories I want to share with the world. It’s a blend of authenticity and creativity, crafted to connect with people on a personal level.

One thing that sets me apart is my genuine dedication to creating music that goes beyond entertainment; it’s about forming a meaningful connection with those who listen. I believe in the power of music to evoke emotions, tell stories, and bring people together.

As for what I’m most proud of, it’s the decision to pursue my true passion and embark on a journey as a recording artist. This path has allowed me to discover my authentic voice and share my creativity with others.

To potential followers and fans, I want them to know that my work is a sincere expression of who I am. I pour my heart and soul into every song, and I hope that through my music, I can create a lasting impact and resonate with the experiences of those who choose to listen. I am genuinely grateful for the support and connection that my audience brings to my artistic journey.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the ability to connect with people on a deep and emotional level through my music. There’s a unique joy that comes with creating something that resonates with others, evoking emotions, and perhaps even making a positive impact on someone’s life. The process of self-expression and seeing the genuine reactions of my audience is incredibly fulfilling. Knowing that my art has the power to inspire, comfort, or bring joy to others is what makes the journey as an artist truly rewarding.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

I do wish I had known about the value of reaching out to collaborate with different songwriters and producers earlier in my creative journey. Connecting with diverse talents has enriched my work and brought new perspectives to my music. Collaboration has become an essential aspect of my creative process, and I believe it would have accelerated my growth as an artist if I had started exploring these opportunities sooner.
