We recently connected with Paige Comrie and have shared our conversation below.
Paige, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
At Wine with Paige, my mission is to make wine more approachable, inclusive, and deeply personal. I spotlight boutique winemakers and undiscovered wines, sharing their stories in a way that helps people connect—not just with the wine itself, but with the culture, history, and craftsmanship behind it.
This mission is personal because I didn’t grow up around wine. I discovered it as an outsider, and what started as curiosity turned into a lifelong passion. But along the way, I saw how exclusive and intimidating the wine world can feel. Many small, independent wineries struggle to reach new audiences, and many wine lovers don’t know where to start beyond the grocery store shelves. My work bridges that gap, making wine feel more welcoming while championing the winemakers who pour their hearts into every bottle.
Through storytelling, photography, and education, I help people slow down, savor the moment, and experience the magic of wine—because at its core, Wine with Paige is about curating life’s best moments, one glass at a time.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Paige, the founder and storyteller behind Wine with Paige, where I make wine feel fun, approachable, and deeply personal. My journey into wine wasn’t exactly traditional—I didn’t grow up around it, and my parents didn’t drink. In fact, I stumbled into this world as an outsider, feeling completely lost in a business program where wine knowledge seemed like an unspoken requirement for networking and socializing. In an attempt to fit in, I picked up Wine for Dummies, and that simple decision changed my life.
I quickly fell in love with wine—not just as a beverage but as a portal to history, culture, and human connection. Every bottle tells a story, and I wanted to learn them all. What started as a personal passion led me to pursue formal education through WSET courses, travel to some of the world’s most beautiful wine regions, and eventually turn my love for storytelling into a brand.
What I Do:
Through Wine with Paige, I curate and share the stories of boutique wineries, independent winemakers, and rare, undiscovered wines. My work spans multiple creative disciplines—photography, writing, content creation, and consulting—all with the goal of making wine more inclusive, accessible, and exciting. Whether it’s through my blog, social media, or email newsletter, I act as a guide for wine lovers seeking something beyond the grocery store shelves.
I also offer brand partnerships, helping wineries tell their stories in a way that captivates and inspires. This includes everything from photography and social media strategy to writing blog posts that enhance SEO and drive meaningful engagement. Additionally, I create personalized Napa Valley itineraries, helping visitors discover hidden gems and thoughtfully plan their trips.
What Problems I Solve & What Sets Me Apart:
Wine can feel intimidating. It has a reputation for being exclusive and full of rules—but it doesn’t have to be that way. I break down barriers by telling stories in a way that feels warm, engaging, and inviting. My audience trusts me to introduce them to wines that are worth seeking out—whether that’s a small, family-run winery, an experimental winemaker pushing boundaries, or a bottle that perfectly pairs with a cozy night in.
Unlike traditional wine influencers who focus on luxury brands or mass-market wines, I champion the small, the niche, and the personal. I focus on boutique wineries, sustainability, and wines made with heart. I also blend photography and storytelling to create content that’s not just informative but visually captivating and emotionally resonant.
What I’m Most Proud Of:
Beyond the partnerships and opportunities, what means the most to me is the community I’ve built. My audience is full of curious, engaged wine lovers who care deeply about the people and stories behind the bottle. Seeing someone discover a new favorite wine because of my recommendation or hearing from a small winery that my feature brought them new customers—those are the moments that make this work meaningful.
I’m also incredibly proud of the impact I’ve had in making the wine industry feel more inclusive. Wine should be for everyone, not just for those who grew up with it or studied it extensively. My goal is to make it feel approachable, whether someone is a total beginner or a seasoned enthusiast looking for their next favorite bottle.
What I Want People to Know:
At its core, Wine with Paige is about creating a life well-lived—one that’s full of small moments of beauty, intention, and joy. Wine isn’t just about what’s in the glass; it’s about the experience surrounding it—whether that’s the story of the winemaker, the place where it was made, or the people you’re sharing it with.
I invite people to slow down, sip mindfully, and savor the magic of everyday life. Whether that’s through discovering a new wine, planning a dream trip to Napa, or simply setting a beautiful table, my work is here to inspire. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about drinking wine—it’s about the stories, the memories, and the connections it creates.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
People often think that running a creative business is all fun and artistry, but there’s a huge amount of strategy, analysis, and behind-the-scenes work involved. Even my parents struggle to understand what I do, and strangers on the internet assume my job is just taking selfies with wine bottles. In reality, I’ve spent hundreds—if not thousands—of hours studying wine, honing my craft, and building a business. I have a business degree, and I constantly use data analysis, marketing strategy, and financial planning to ensure my work is both creatively fulfilling and financially sustainable. Creativity is only part of the equation—success comes from blending passion with strategy.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I’m constantly pivoting—it’s a necessity in the social media world, where trends, algorithms, and AI are always evolving. One of my biggest pivots came after I spent a year growing my website through SEO, finally reaching the point where I could generate “passive” income from ads. Then, just six months later, a Google algorithm change and the rise of AI slashed that income stream overnight.
Thankfully, I’ve never put all my eggs in one basket. I quickly shifted gears, taking on more social media clients to keep my business thriving and ensure I could continue living my creative lifestyle. Wearing many hats comes with the territory, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
