We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Paige Beuning. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Paige below.
Paige, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
PVB The Label was born from both passion and purpose. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, while pursuing my master’s degree in Fashion Marketing, I wrote a research paper that changed everything for me. I discovered that the fashion industry is the second most polluting industry in the world — and that truth hit me hard. I couldn’t shake the thought that the industry I loved so much was doing so much harm.
At the same time, I thought about where I came from — growing up on a lake, wakeboarding, waterskiing, and collecting way too many bikinis. Summer was always my happy place. I was also the kid obsessed with turtles, constantly watching wildlife documentaries and begging my parents to adopt rescued animals. So when I learned how much plastic waste ends up in our oceans, harming marine life and ecosystems, I knew I had to do something. It felt personal.
PVB The Label was my way of merging everything I loved — fashion, the water, and a better future. Every swimsuit we make is crafted from ocean waste like plastic bottles and abandoned fishing nets, using a fabric called ECONYL®. We believe in creating timeless staples, not chasing trends. Because the world doesn’t need more — it needs better.
This brand isn’t just swimwear to me — it’s my mission to protect the places and creatures I’ve loved since childhood, while helping women feel confident and beautiful doing it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi, I’m Paige Beuning — founder of PVB The Label, a sustainable swimwear brand rooted in purpose, passion, and planet-first values.
The idea for PVB began during a pivotal moment in my life. While pursuing my master’s degree in Fashion Marketing during the COVID-19 pandemic, I wrote a research paper that exposed the unsettling truth about the fashion industry — it’s the second most polluting industry in the world. As someone who had always loved fashion, especially swimwear, that reality was hard to ignore. At the same time, I reflected on my childhood spent on the lake, doing watersports, collecting swimsuits, and obsessing over marine life (I’ve had a soft spot for turtles since I was little). The connection between my love for the water and the damage fast fashion was doing to our oceans felt too personal to overlook — so I decided to create change.
PVB The Label was born from that intersection — of sustainability and style, of passion and responsibility.
We create timeless, eco-conscious swimwear made from regenerated ocean waste such as plastic bottles and abandoned fishing nets. The fabric we use, ECONYL®, gives new life to materials that would otherwise harm marine ecosystems. Our designs are intentionally minimal and versatile — pieces that women can feel confident in for years to come. We believe you don’t need dozens of trendy, disposable bikinis. You need a few thoughtfully designed, well-made staples that reflect both your personal style and your values.
What sets PVB apart is not just our product, but our mission. We stand on three pillars: inclusivity, positivity, and sustainability. We’re here to help women feel powerful in their own skin, to redefine what confidence looks like, and to inspire conscious consumerism in an industry that often prioritizes speed over substance.
What I’m most proud of is seeing women wear our swimsuits and share how they feel — confident, comfortable, and connected to something bigger than just fashion. That, to me, is the heart of our brand.
For anyone discovering us for the first time: PVB The Label is more than just swimwear. It’s a movement. It’s for the girls who care about the planet, about feeling their best, and about doing better — without compromising on beauty or style.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the most important lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that failure is inherently negative.
Early in my entrepreneurial journey, I viewed failure as something to be feared or avoided. However, I quickly came to realize that failure is not only inevitable but essential when starting and growing a business. It is one of the most powerful tools for learning and growth. I began to understand that if you’re not failing from time to time, you’re likely not pushing yourself hard enough or taking the necessary risks to evolve.
One experience that solidified this perspective was the launch of my second swimwear collection during the first year of my business. Despite investing so much of my time, energy, passion, and financial resources into the collection, I didn’t sell a single bikini. It was devastating—and it felt, in that moment, like I had failed completely. But that “failure” became one of the most pivotal moments in my journey. It taught me that I needed a more efficient website, stronger designs, and a better understanding of my audience.
Most importantly, it taught me resilience. Had I chosen to walk away after that experience, I would have missed out on everything that came after—meeting incredible women through my community, being featured in Vogue, and showcasing my brand at Miami Swim Week. That setback became the catalyst for some of my proudest accomplishments.
I now view failure as progress in disguise. Each misstep is simply redirecting me toward something better.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
My journey of growing an audience on social media began by authentically documenting the process of building my business.
I started by sharing behind-the-scenes content on TikTok and Instagram—from receiving my first product samples to organizing my inaugural photoshoot, and eventually walking the runway at Miami Swim Week. These moments resonated with people because they offered a transparent look into the realities of entrepreneurship.
One of the most impactful ways I fostered a genuine community was through my brand photoshoots. I made a conscious decision to make them inclusive—there were no requirements to be a certain size or have prior modeling experience. I wanted every woman to feel welcome. The photoshoots were designed to feel more like a celebration than a formal production, and as a result, many of the women who participated shared their experiences on social media, which organically helped grow our reach.
Some of the most meaningful relationships in my life have come from those early shoots. In fact, one of the women from my very first photoshoot is getting married this year, and I’ll be standing by her side as a bridesmaid.
At the heart of building a brand is the ability to create real, lasting connections. It’s not just about having a well-thought-out marketing strategy—it’s about being kind, genuine, and approachable. That’s what cultivates lifelong supporters. At the end of the day, people crave connection, and when you lead with authenticity, your audience will grow naturally from that foundation.
